Shadows are representations of the soul.
She dreams.Sees herself fall into darkness. Die.
Her father's there too, though he's dead.
She doesn't tell her Mama.
Then she dreams of a dream catcher.
Purple. Enchanting.
They're linked, joined.

Had she opened her eyes, she'd have seen the magazine advertisement for a beautiful dreamcatcher her mama left at her bed head.But she didn't. Couldn't. She had fallen too far asleep.
Tonight, she sees her dad again. He's smiling, though sadly. Her feet move toward him.
She looks back.
It's there. But droopy, forlorn.
Something's gone.
What?
