"Officer Kang Gook, are you going to catch this opportunity and serve me as my loyal secretary or are you going to show me how wrong I was to choose you instead of some other skilled officer?" the prince asked while staring at the young guy in front of him

"Your highness... I'm sure that you will understand that I'm a bit shocked... it is pretty unusual for us officers to meet your royal highness in our office..." Kang Gook said trying to waste enough time in order to think about the chance the prince was giving him

"Officer Kang Gook, I'm sure that I don't have to remind you that there is not a single part of this palace that I cannot visit whenever I want" Tae Joo said smirking, Kang Gook tried his best to remain calm and serious since that smirk was more on te cute side than on the sexy one.

"I apologize your highness, I didn't mean to offend you, and..."

"Do you accept or not Kang Gook? I don't have the whole day!" Tae Joo said slightly irritated, Kang Gook rapidly nodded, the prince smiled, it was clear that he was happy but Kang Gook was still wondering why his royal highness wanted him, a normal officer, as his personal secretary, he was aware that the previous one died because of his age, but there were a lot of other people in the palace that could accept that work without hesitation.

"Good... perfect! General Yi Rim will explain the details and answer to your questions, see you later secretary" Tae Joo said before leaving, Kang Gook bowed and waited that the prince was out before sitting down.

"Aren't you excited Kang Gook? You're going to be his secretary! Isn't it incredible?" a young officer in the room yelled, he then looked at the other officer next to him hoping that he was as excited as him but nothing, the other one was cold as ice and glared at him before looking back at the book in front of him.

"Calm down, by the way, I have to go now, I suppose that his highness wants his secretary as soon as possible... goodbye" Kang Gook said as he stood up and took a few documents with him, the young officer ran to him

"Be careful, you have to make sure that you never disappoint him, I've heard a lot of stories about the prince" the young officer said

"You shouldn't pay attention to that kind of rumors... and remember that you're talking about our prince, show some respect!" Kang Gook said smiling

"You're right, sorry..."

"Do you want to tell me anything else? Because I have to hurry up" Kang Gook added, the young guy shook his head and the secretary eventually left the room.

Kang Gook left the building, the air was incredibly cold and it looked like it was about to snow too

"It is too cold to go out without a coat... how is it possible that the prince went out without something warm? He surely didn't gave it to his servant before entering the office... the servant wasn't holding anything..." Kang Gook thought, however, before he could continue thinking about those things, Yi Rim found him

"You're here... come on, I will show you the way to your new office and quarters" the general said, Kang Gook nodded and silently followed him.

"So, you have to be always beside his highness, you will follow him wherever he goes and do whatever he wants, your life depends on him, clear?" Yi Rim said

"Yes sir, is there anything else that I should know before starting?" Kang Gook asked

"Actually yes, whatever you see or hear in the prince's quarters... remains there... if you talk about something like that I have the specific order to kill you... and I can assure you that it will not be funny, not at all. However, as the prince's personal secretary, you will have some privileges, you will be allowed in the royal library and in some usually forbidden rooms, even if you aren't with the prince... oh, and a good wage of course." Yi rim added

"Thank you for your explanation sir, so, where's the office?" Kang Gook asked, after a few more steps, Yi Rim opened the door, the office was pretty big and the general told him that it was actually the prince's office, the secretary's desk was near the corner of the room. Kang Gook thanked the general again and went to his place.

"Secretary, you will come with me, the council is waiting for us" Tae Joo said as he entered the office, he looked pretty different, he wasn't the happy guy that Kang Gook met that day at his office, he was really serious, he could almost inspire fear as well.

"Yes your highness, do I have to bring something?" Kang Gook asked

"Learn this secretary, you have to understand what your prince wants without asking me directly, is it clear or are you already showing your incompetence?" Tae Joo said quite annoyed, Kang Gook bowed

"I apologize your highness..."

"I don't have time for your apology, come on!" Tae Joo shouted, Kang Gook followed him immediately and went to the throne room to attend the council with his new master, he was pretty close to the prince

"Calm down... you just have to follow my orders... you don't have to think about anything else... just think about me... the others... should be like ghosts to you..." Tae Joo whispered, Kang Gook knew that he had to act like he didn't hear anything so that the meeting could continue and so he did... he just thought about his master... and he smelled nice... wait what?
