Chapter 14

"So, do you want to have lunch now your highness? the cook said that he's ready if you want now." Kang Gook said. Tae Joo nodded and sat down. He started staring at the window and he couldn't help but think about the beautiful landscape.

"Kang Gook, call the governor..." Tae Joo said calmly

"Are you sure your highness? I don't think that it is a good idea.... you know... what happened... ummm..." Kang Gook stuttered, Tae Joo looked at him and smirked

"Don't act like that Kang Gook, are you going to be overprotective? By the way, I want to believe that it was just a misunderstanding and that he didn't really mean to hurt me." 

"But..." 

"Kang Gook, I want you  to stop. I know that you just want to protect me but you must know your limits... I admit that I'm not sure about it... but since we both don't trust the governor that much you will stay with me so that if he tries to do something weird you will be able to stop him in time. And now call the servants, I'm starving and it looks like the cook is taking way too much time!" Tae Joo said annoyed. 

Kang Gook nodded and left the room. He first called a servant and ordered him to go to the kitchen and tell the cooks to hurry up. Then he went to the governor's office, the door was opened so he entered directly

"Oh, secretary Kang Gook, I wanted to apologize once again for my terrible and silly..."

"You don't have to worry anymore about it sir. The prince understood that it was just a terrible misunderstanding and he wants to talk to you. Would you please come with me?" Kang Gook said calmly. The governor sighed in relief and nodded. He followed him and during their way to the prince's quarter he asked 

"Do you know what he wants to talk about? I must admit that his highness surely knows how to be intimidating... and I don't want him to think that I'm not competent enough to serve him." 

"As I said before, you do not have to worry about him governor Seo Joon, he is really calm and he will tell you if he doesn't feel alright with something you do or say. but actually..." 

"Actually? oh come on secretary Kang Gook, why do you have to keep all these secrets, can't you make it easier for both of us?" the governor asked impatient

"I was about to say that the prince was enjoying the view of his room, it might seem something irrelevant but I can assure you that I can understand his needs and wishes just by these little details. However, you should be much more careful when you talk. You should be aware that I cannot tell any secret... even though there aren't at all..." Kang Gook replied. 

The door of the prince's room opened. The servant already gave him something to eat and it looked like he was enjoying it a lot. He was about to offer Kang Gook some of those delicious dishes but he stopped as he saw the governor. 

"Good morning governor Sae Joon..." the governor immediately interrupted Tae Joo

"Good morning your highness, I hope you like our food..." 

"I wasn't finished yet governor... next time wait for your turn before speaking..." Tae Joo said looking at him like he was now disgusted by the person in front of him. He saw how the young man retreated and the prince immediately chuckled

"I was just joking governor... but I'm not used to speak as fast as you do sometimes and it becomes a little difficult to me to expose my thoughts and opinions when you talk. By the way... I wanted to talk to you about a few projects. I saw that the island needs a few infrastructures and I thought that we could go out for a tour of Jeju so that we can think about what we can do." Tae Joo replied

"Of course your highness... but if I may ask... aren't you supposed to stay here just to stop the riots and go back to Hanseong? How are you going to build these... infrastructure in just a few weeks?" the governor asked

Kang Gook noticed that the prince didn't reply and he couldn't tell why, he was just looking at the governor. The secretary took the opportunity and said

"We know that the people of Jeju is used to this... revolts... so the prince wanted to remain here for a little more time in order to make the island a better place, so that the people of the province can see that the Crown cares about its people." 

"What a wonderful idea. So, when do you want to leave your highness? I can set everything in a few minutes but the choice is up to you." the governor replied

"I would like to leave in four hours... I have a few things to do before our tour..." 

"Of course your highness!" the governor said and left. 

"Kang Gook... I would like to take a bath... would you call the servants to do so?" 

"Surely your highness, I will take care of everything." Kang Gook bowed and left the room. An hour later, Tae Joo was in the bathtub, the warm water covered his body up to his chest

"Kang Gook! Come here please..." Tae Joo said. The secretary entered the room

"Kang Gook... I need your help... with something..." Tae Joo said smirking slightly.
