"This relationship is so toxic.", I say aloud, turning the volume of my TV up.

I was catching up on my Divorce Court, and when I tell y'all I was glad that MicMic and I actually loved each other.

However, my phone rang from beside me, interrupting my show.

Without checking to see who it was, I answer. "Hello?"

"Bestfriend, what you doing right now?", Landon's voice asks me.

"Not shit, why? Wassup?", I answer.

"Put some shoes on. I'm on my way to get you now.", he says and hangs up.

Smacking my lips, I get up and go grab some shoes anyway.

I make my way upstairs and into our bedroom.

"How we feelin' today?", I ask myself, looking at my shelves of shoes. Chill day.

Making my decision, I grab my tie-dye crocs and slide my feet into them.

I make my way back downstairs only for a honk to be heard outside.

"BESTFRIEND, BRING YO' ASS!", I hear Landon yell.

Grabbing my keys, I finally go outside.

"Took you long enough.", he says, literally as soon as I open his truck door.

Climbing in, I retort, "Lick my ass."

He simply flips me off before backing out of my driveway.

"So, where we going?", I ask him. "Pet Smart."

I snap my head towards him.

"What you need me to go to Pet Smart with you for?", I question.

"So we can have some bestfriend time, nigga. I'm sorry I wanna spend some time with my little sister.", he answers, trying to guilt trip me.

Smacking my lips, I say, "Don't even do that, because I just saw yo' scrawny ass a few days ago."

"You right, I want a pet. But I'on know shit about animals.", he tells me.

I respond, "And you think I do? I couldn't even take care of a goldfish. Long live Gerald, man." (nah, fr tho. my friend had a pet fish named gerald. long live gerald fasho 🕊🤍)

"That was because you're slow.", he says.

Yes, y'all read that right.

Landon Quantravious Bartholomew White just called me slow.

With a curious look, I ask, "If I'm slow, what does that make you?"

"The smart one, duh.", he answers as if it was the most obvious thing.

I decide to leave it alone and just let him live.
