Chapter 23 : <Finishing Up.>

I Teleported directly above the current survivors of the Slime Raid, using [Quill Dagger] to shred through a few of the closer Slimes, hearing the familiar System Messages of Experience, before using [Omni Movement] to create-... No, I can't risk showing that to so many people. Rowan might get annoyed... 

I used [Omni Movement] and enlarged my body, covering around 30 feet with my wingspan and dragged my wings across the grass, gouging dirt out and pushing the survivors away a considerable distance, although it strangely felt like I had enlarged my body before...

I released the enlargement, feeling the strain of needing to use Mana to make up for the missing mass. Flapping my wings to boost myself backward, I avoided several Slimes who jumped onto where I was moments before, jumping again and leaving the grass completely trampled.

I flicked my wing and shot several consecutive bursts of [Quill Dagger], flying back further to avoid damage. Croa's walls were in view now, and I could see a line of Archers and Mages getting ready to fire. I quickly checked my Status to see the condition of my Mana.

I haven't taken any damage yet and my Mana's relatively full. Great, now I'll just need to bring the Slimes into the range of the Archers and Mages and they should lessen the load that I need to clear... Agh, what a pain. The Slimes had already lost all of their Sedative Slimes, and a large portion of the 'front-line' has been cleared as well.. My guess is that there should be around 800 or so Slimes left.

And I gained 13 levels from those Slimes... If this goes well I might be able to hit the maximum level and use the excess Experience points as progress to whatever criteria I need to meet to unlock that hidden Evolution option...

A Toxic Slime suddenly splurted it's toxins outward, and I wasn't able to completely dodge it... 

...I zoned out from thinking too much, and this burning p̴a̷i̵n̷ i̶s̵ ̴g̵e̶t̸t̸i̵n̶g̶ ̵a̵n̸n̸o̵y̸i̸n̶g̶. [Health Regeneration] should counter the toxins though.

I strafed backward, feeling slightly more annoyed than before. I just want to get this o̴v̷E̷r̶ ̶w̴I̸t̷h̴ ̸a̴l̵R̷e̶A̸d̵y̷. Enlarging my body again, I vented my f̶R̴U̷s̸t̵R̷a̷t̴I̵O̶n̶ onto the Slimes, pelting them with gigantified feathers and clearing a larger amount. I could feel the strain creeping up to me, but I ignored it and kept firing anyway. More Slimes were cleared and they look like their numbers had been almost cut by a third.

Mmm... feels much better.  

I undid the Enlargement and dashed backward, since I could feel the Archers and Mages through [Danger Sense] and they seemed to be in an appropriate range. As soon as I heard the first Arrow being released, I ducked into my Shadow and watched the rain of wood and steel lodge themselves into the remaining Mud and Spiked Slimes, which then were completely cleared. The Mages, who didn't have to worry about their attacks getting stopped by those Slimes, or burning up the Arrows that were released, could then fire off their own spells, with bolts and balls and Spears of several Elements being fired forward.
