Olivia's pov

It felt like forever waiting for 7:30. I don't know why I was so stuck on this though. Sure I've seen the guy from a distance for a while now, but hanging out with him? I don't know, but then again, I haven't done anything since I had Ellie. I guess you gotta get back out there eventually.

I began wiping down tables when the door dinged. Soda was now standing right in front of me. I look over at the clock, then back at him.

"You're early," I said.

"I know." he grinned. I just shook my head and continued wiping down tables. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Soda stand next to Eleanor. I could hear him joking around with her and it was honestly adorable. I heard the clock ring and that meant my shift was over. I walked over to Soda and Ellie after putting everything away.

"Alright Soda, we are officially free." I smiled, putting my hand on Eleanor's shoulder.

"Great! What do you want to do princess?" Soda looked down at Ellie.

"I wanna go to the park." She perked up from her daze of coloring.

"Well, let's see if it's okay with your mommy first." He looked from Ellie to me.

"Mommy, can we go to the park, pleaseee." She gave me the puppy eyes.

"You know I could never say no to you." I booped her nose.

"Yay!" she cheered. Soda helped her down while I packed up her backpack and swung it over my shoulders. We walked out the door and made our way towards the park. The sun was a little low in the sky, but not too much. Eleanor grabbed my hand and Soda's then had us swing her back and forth, letting out her cute little giggles until we reached the park.

"Okay baby, go play." We let her go and she ran to the slide as Soda and I sat on a bench, watching her.

"She's such a cute kid. I can see where she gets it from." Soda turned to me and grinned.

"Sodapop Curtis you are full of surprises." I smiled, shaking my head.

"Like?" he asked.

"Like today, you were very bold about hanging out with me and Ellie. Why?"

"Well, this might sound a little strange but, every time I walk into The Dingo, my eyes fall directly on you and I can't figure out why. It drives me crazy." Soda's face became very red. I let out a small laugh. Thinking about what he said, I know that my eyes fall directly on him too.

"I guess we're both guilty then." I chuckled, raising a hand.

"I got a few things to ask Soda."

"Shoot," he replied.

"How old are you?"

"20 going on 21." He didn't hesitate to answer.

"Umm, you got a job?"

"I work full time at the DX." He proudly answered. I asked a handful of questions until he stopped me.

"Alright, now it's my turn. You don't have to answer this one but, does Eleanor have a dad?" I was a bit taken back by his question but I didn't want to leave his hanging.

"No, he's not in the picture. It's just me and her." We kinda gazed off for a moment, staring into each other's eyes until Ellie ran up to us.

"Sodi-pop, can you push me on the swing, pleaseeee," she pulled his arm towards the swing set and I stayed sitting on the bench. I smiled at the fact that Ellie pronounces his name Sodi-pop. I watch them from a small distance, he's so good with her. Most guys don't like the sound of me having a kid but Sodapop doesn't seem to mind at all.
