"Nooo Lucifer! Whyy!" You shouted over his kisses when you noticed that Lucifer hung up on Mammon
"Mmmm.." Hailey hummed turning herself awake when Lucifer immediately let go of you
"You're done already???" You asked when he stopped halfway through to stay near Hailey
"Haha now we're both equal" Lucifer replied laughing
"What do you mean by that?" You asked
"You got your reward for watching Hailey last night and I get to leave you hanging for my sadistic needs" Lucifer replied causing you to pout when Lucifer's D.D.D buzzed
"It's from the Police Department, The family is on the way over now so we should hurry up and get over there with Hailey" Lucifer said after reading the message when he gently woke Hailey up

"Hello" a women said greeting you two as you both walked in with Hailey
"I am Kate, and this is my husband Adrien" Kate said introducing themselves
"It's nice to meet you! I'm (y/n), and this is my friend Lucifer!" You exclaimed giving Lucifer a little side hug
"So you're the family looking to adopt?" Lucifer asked
"Yes, you see.. We had a daughter named Angel.. She was only eight years old..." Kate started when she drifted off making you and Lucifer look at each other silently and sadly both knowing where this will be heading
"She was a little thing alright, our perfect little angel we used to call her.. You see, a couple years back on new years Kate's brother wanted to take us all out over to his place to celebrate since he was alone, and we agreed" Adrien said continuing Kate's words
"And..on the way there.. We noticed a drunk driver and..H-he crashed into us..T-throwing her out of the back of the c-car window and into a tree..u-unfortunately we w-were F-fine but when we w-went to the hospital for A-Angel...she was P-pronounced dead.." Kate finished while stuttering, hiccuping and wiping away her tears
"I'm sorry to hear that.." You and Lucifer said at the same time making you two look at each other
"It's alright, at least she's in a better place.. Ever since then we've been recovering from it until we finally wanted to try and have another child.. unfortunately as much as we tried it just wouldn't work..so now we are considering adoption" Adrien said rubbing Kate's back to help her calm down
"That's very considerate" Lucifer said
"So, are you two the parent's of this child?, maybe friends with benefits?" Adrien asked making you blush extremely hard
"Unfortunately not.. We found her at an abandoned orphanage and decided to both take care of her until we find her a new home" Lucifer answered

"ahh I see, sorry, you two just seemed like a young couple with a child" Adrien said
"More like two best friends watching over an abandoned child haha" you said extremely flustered yet nervous when Lucifer took notice
"I-is it okay if we keep her for three days and see how she does before making any rash choices?" Kate asked
"Sure, if you need anything or have any questions you can just contact me" Lucifer replied as they both exchanged phone numbers
