chapter twelve

I look down at my phone as it beeps and see a message from winston

" be seeing you. "

I immediately hit the phone button and called winston.

" Because of court but that was in a day or two ? "  I thought to myself.

" what ? " I asked shocked

" you need a waitness and i was on the phone I record every vediocall I have including this one. "

" so you have it "

" yes and john has business to take care of but he'll be there im sure. "

" winston he doesn't care about me i think he's made that clear. "

" get some rest ill see you soon but john,charon, and I will be there "

" no. john.. john he didnt want me so I got on the plane and got beat up by cory and now I'm here.. " I said as I felt tears stream down my face and I pull the phone away from my face I felt a hand on me and I jump and look at bree before I lean into her touch and let her hold me as she talks to winston

" listen winston she's been through a lot and she doesn't need another man breaking her.. just give her a few days "

" I will be there in a day. " winston stated before hanging up.

I cried into bree.

I lay in bed I hear the bedroom door opening " hey " bree said " hi " I said " has john called ? " I asked " many times and so did Winston.. winston is on his way cherish " bree said " but why is john ? " i mutter bree came over " move " bree said as i roll over slightly and curl up as bree wrap her arm around me " shhhhh it's okay I got you " bree said I felt tears stream down my face and I drift off into a deep sleep.

* next day *

Bree was helping me bathe I was still sore and had a broken arm. We hear a knock on the door.  " ash can you get that ?! " bree calls out to our other friend ashlyn. It's been just the three of us since junior year. " it might be john. Have you thought of what you are going to say to him ? " bree asks as she sits on the edge of the tub as I shave my legs. " tell him to fuck off. Leave me alone. " I said " really ? " bree ask " probably break down crying. I do miss him. But I just got the shit beat out of me by a man that i cared about so.. " I said  " why me ? " I asked outloud. " you said he was an assassin. " bree said " yeah. Winston owns a holet for the assassins and charon is the guy you check in with." I said as I was done shaving my legs. bree nods " come on. let's clean that hair " bree said I laugh at bree as she puts on music escape the fate - one for the money came on. I closed my eyes as bree pours shampoo on my head " ash ! " bree calls i jump " sorry " bree said " what's up ? " ash asks as I hear her voice from the door. " who was at the door ? " I asked " john " ash said I froze " John's here " I mutter as I felt the panic set in. " tell john we'll be out shortly thank you ash " I said as I felt tears stream down my face already. " hey shhhhh he doesn't sound to bad of a guy. " bree said " but he didnt want me and now since cory beat me.. " I drifted off as I put my head under the sink and reach up and rinse out my hair " hey your doing it ! " bree said I smiled as I felt myself blush. " because of nurse bree " I said as I laugh. My arm grew tired and they began to hurt bree took over and we quickly got my hair wash and we dried my body leaving my hair wet as I wore a tank top and short shorts " can't i just wear my hoodie and sweats ?! " i asked as i grab the sling putting my right arm in it. " he needs to see it cherish " bree said " he does " ashlyn said " no he doesn't.. he's seen bruised bodies before " I said as I turn around and bend down to grab sweats and my hoodie but I felt pain in my side " ah " I hissed as I held it bree and ash slowly stood me back straight. I sat down on the bed bree walk to the door " wait bree " ashlyn said i rub my jaw it was still sore and my arm was sore too. " just give her a minute " ashlyn said " you guys should go down and see if they need anything to drink or anything ? " i said slowly again my jaw hurt so much I felt a tear stream down my face i grew angry as I was crying and I knew it was stupid to get angry that I was crying because I was hurting " hey its okay " ashlyn said as she grabs her tablet and i typed : " thanks ash I think im ready to go ". " im going to go down you guys stay up here til you are okay cherish. " bree said " i won't be okay but ill stay up here for a few and listen to music. you guys go and ill come down later " i typed the girls nod and walk out the door i broke down crying again " im weak " i thought over and over again. I shut my eyes and lay down on the bed i let out a huff of air as this is going to hurt by sixx:a.m. came on. I hit pause and hear someone coming up the stairs it was a old house and the stairs creak whenever there's weight on them i stared at the door ready for cory to just come in and i cried as i thought of corys hands on me again. " no. No get out of my head. " i thought as i squeeze my eyes shut and sat up i slowly made my way to the bathroom and shut the door just as i hear a knock on the door but i ignored it and i turn on the water and grab a wash cloth and put the cloth under the water and wash my face even if I had just gotten a bath i caught myself staring at myself in the mirror and I see movement and i see only ashlyn. " hey I got your blanket if you want to cover up " ashlyn said i nod and walk out the bathroom and to the bedroom to grab ashlyns tablet i shut the water off ashlyn held the tablet as i wrap the blanket close to me and i walk downstairs i see figures in the living room and decide to go to the kitchen instead to grab a glass of water. " shes nervous " i hear bree say " we understand " winston said i just stood there shaking but take a couple of deep breath in and out to calm my nervous but it didnt do anything " you need music ? " bree ask i look up i nod " hey its okay come on " bree said as she held out her hand as ashlyn did the same " im not weak " i said slowly " they don't think that so stop it " bree said as they stop and turn to me i look down at my feet and look back at them but I see john staring at me from behind them i felt a hand brush my arm and I jump and look down at my arm i see its corys hand i shake my head and look again and it was bree. I nod and we walk into the room i see winston sitting on the chair, john continued to stare at me, charon was staring at winston or john then he look at me. " shes alot better than she was but she has to have a tablet since she can't write with her left hand. " ashlyn said " you go to court a day or so yeah ? " john ask i nod and look away and i wrap my blanket closer i felt naked but I wasn't naked I was clothed and had a blanket on. I look over at winston and grab the tablet and sat down beside him but not to close. " im sorry you had to see that. " i typed. I hit the voice button and it read it back. I just stared at the tablet. " we saw it too " john said his voice was closer i look up and i see john standing in front of me " im sorry " i said slowly as i stared at john john did something that I never expected him to but john held out a hand i took it without really thinking. John slowly pulls me and i flinched back " its just me " john said softly " we'll leave you two be " bree said and everyone leaves the room i pull away and john drops his hand i grab the tablet and pick it up as i sat down " you took care of your business ? " i typed and hit voice. John nods " you okay ? " i typed " i shouldn't have let you go " john mutters as he looks away as i did the same and look at the tablet. " not your fault didn't know what was going to happen. " i typed i hit the voice and stood up and slowly open and close my jaw i see john stand up and watch me " do you need help with your sling ? " john ask i felt myself blush and nod john slowly walk up to me and i see john grab my cheeks and we kiss or john takes off my blanket, wrap it around my neck choking me he sees the brusies and he rips my shirt off as he beats me. My eyes snap up and I see john standing in front of me i nod and I felt john slowly take the blanket off and throw it onto the couch and we stared at one another me staring at him to see his reaction his reaction was pity and anger. I look away from john and i felt john unclip the sling I held my arm close to me john didnt say anything just stared at me with a questioning look i nod john slowly took a hold of my hand and then slid it up my wrist i jerk my arm " shhhh its just me " john said as i look up at him with fear but I slightly let my guard down and let him take a hold of my arm and he began to rub his palm into my arm kind of like he's trying to massage but I was tense and didn't trust it i shake my head and started to pull away " please " john said i look back up at him and sat down john take a seat next to me and take his hands and started to massage

" hey dinners ready " bree said as she came into the room and i nod as john was just rub my arm up and down. " Hes trying to smooth me or me trying to get use to his touch again. that didnt make any sense " i thought  " thank you. Lets go eat with everyone. " i type john drop his hands our eyes met he nods and stand up grabbing the sling but i shake my head no and stand up just cradling my arm close to me instead as we walk to the dinning room i take my normal sit next to the head of the table I notice my pills are at the table I grab the bottle and just shake the bottle but all the pills came out i blush as they go everywhere but john and everyone picks them up " sorry " i said and grab the bottle walking to the kitchen and put them away i turn around and i see john he just stares at me i ignored him and walk back into the dinning room to eat.

After dinner we sat outside and talked well john and i didnt say much but I started to hurt again and I put a hand on my shoulder and roll my shoulder " doc did say he may have pulled something in there too. " bree said as ashlyn came over and sat down next to me " fine " i said thats when my phone began to ring and I look at bree and ashlyn I look down at my phone in confusion and I see its mama tate. Corys mom. Ashlyn grabs my phone and puts it on speaker as she answers.

" hello " ashlyn said

" is this one of cherishs friends since my son hurt her jaw ?  " mama tate ask

" yes you are on speaker and cherishs lawyer will be here tomorrow " bree said

" we want cherish to drop the changes it was just a misunderstanding. We understand that what our son did was wrong but he will get more time in prison and that won't be good. We all know he has a temper but anyways we don't stand with or against you or our son. " mama tate said i shake my head no.

" cherish isn't changing her mind she wants him to pay because he needs to. Goodnight " bree said and hangs up the phone.

No one said anything after that i stood up and walk back upstairs to my room and decide it was time to go to bed. I brush my teeth and lay down.

i hear a vediocall coming in cory immediately moved towards my phone as he did i put my leg out so he would trip but cory backslap me and i fell backwards and now i was staring at the ceiling. " say hi " cory said as he immediately showed me my phone and i saw winston. " oh god " winston said " winston " i thought but cory kicks me in the head and i felt the blood fill my mouth i spit it out " look at all the blood " cory said before ending the call " its not that much blood " i said stupidly cory laughs and bends down and picks up the chair and sits me upright again " bye bye " cory said as he faced my phone towards me again i brust out crying " LET ME GO! " I screamed cory laughs and hangs up and sits on the floor after a few minutes " you did that because you want them to come down here ? ..... but why ? " i ask " shut up " cory said Cory then kicks me once more before he unhinged my jaw and left me on the floor....

Broken and bruised

I cried til i passed out

I sat up and see movement from within the darkness " its just me " john said i grab the tablet " why ? You didn't want me and know since this happen " i typed " i care about you " john said " funny way of showing it " i thought but I shake my head and wrote. : " goodnight Mr wick " I felt the bed shift and I knew john had joined me on the bed " goodnight cherish " john said and I felt my head get red as I was nervous about john in bed with me but I felt safe and calm also.

" what did you give him head ? " i hear cory ask but I didnt see him " i told you I wouldn't leave you " cory said as i turn around and see him " didnt believe me " cory said " leave me alone " i said next thing i knew it i see me trying to get into the house but cory had followed me " go home ! " i hear me scream but cory kick the door and walk in shutting the door behind him. I turn away as i hear myself screaming thats when I hear me calling out john but I didnt remember saying his name.

I woke up to warm arms around my waist, a hard chest press to my back. I jump I placed a shaking hand on the persons arm I knew it was john but I had to make sure so I turn slightly and from the alarm clock lighting I could just make out his head i relaxed and turn my back again and closed my eyes feeling safe once again by john wick... " wait why ? Remember what happen the last time you felt like that.. how you feeling now because of it " i thought to myself " john wouldn't hurt me but then again I thought that about cory. " i thought but I felt john slightly wake up but he didnt pull away like I had expected him to he just held me i drift off to sleep..
