Chapter 20: Predicted Plot

As the team almost finished their training. Shiro left the apartment unit to buy some food for their lunch.

It was almost 15:00 before they ended their training.

As the rest of the team awaits for Shiro's return. Ryu asked Eiji to come close as he is going to teach him new skills.

"Eiji. Come close, I'm gonna teach you new skills."

"Ok!"

"You now know 'Incinerate', right? Nod if you know."

Eiji nodded.

"What about cold snap?"

Eiji shrugged.

"No. What does it do? Is it different from Rin's glacial spike?"

"It is more commonly used for knives. It turns the stabbed person into a complete frozen body."

Eiji was amazed.

"Can you show me?"

Ryu nodded and prepares a training dummy.

He then prepared a knife and as he stabs the dummy, he then chanted,

"Cold snap!"

The dummy turns into a complete ice.

Ryu then unsheathe his sword and sliced the frozen dummy into half.

Eiji was amazed and asks,
"What if flicker plus cold snap? Will it do?"

Ryu smirked and prepared another dummy.

This time, he threw the knife at the dummy and chanted,

"Flicker!"

Followed with another chant,
"Cold snap!"

Eiji was surprised.

Ryu then says,
"Yes it works, as you can see, you can combine skills only if it is viable."

"Can I use it with a sword?"

"Yes, but make sure it hits a target. Unlike glacial spike, cold snap is more useful in a specific target."

"What else can you teach me? Do you know immolate?"

"Yes, but it is also used for stabbing only. When did you knew this?"

"After we won and celebrated that night. I left the shop for a while to get some fresh air, but only to find out I'm being hunted by the remaining hoarder who survived."

"What?? Damn it! I should've told you your lives are still at peril since some hoarders survived."

"It's ok! It is already over. Besides, I've been saved by Rin that night."

Ryu sighed.

"Well then? Want me to teach you immolate or you wanna try it?"

"And how will I try it?"

"Hmm, if only we have a fruit or an animal to slaughter."

Eiji gulped.

"An animal to slaughter?? Nevermind that skill, just tell me anything else without an animal involved."

"Hahaha.. Well, we can use fruits."

"But there are no fruits. Just give me anything else without a live target involved."

"Ok ok, how 'bout blade flurry?"

"What's that?"

"You will be able to slash multiple targets at once. You can also use it against one target, but I don't recommend it."
