Chapter Two

3rd Person Pov

Steven slowly opened his eyes and sat up from his bed. He yawned and stretched his arms into the air. He sighed in relief and looked towards his sliding door seeing the sunlight pour into his room. He quietly got up and grabbed his cup before slipping his slippers on and walked down the stairs. There sitting on the couch with her legs sprawled was Garnet, sprawled in the floor was non other than Amethyst watching videos on her phone. Pearl sat on the kitchen stool cleaning of her spear. Steven frowned and continued walking not acknowledging any of them as they greeted him a good morning. Pearl frowned as she watched Steven quietly make his way towards the sink to wash out his cup.

"Steven, we said good morning."

"So? Am I supposed to reply to that?" The three females paused and looked towards Steven speechless. He quickly dried off his mug before making coffee. He placed the coffee beans in the machine and pressed the start button.

"You know coffees bad for you right? It will stunt your growth!"

"So what? Why do you care?" Pearl frowned before sighing and leaned her head against her palm.

"Steven...is this about last night?" He frowned and removed the mug and slowly poured the black liquid in his mug.

"So what if it is? It's not like you guys care about my feelings." Pearl gasped and placed her hand on her mouth.

"Steven! Of course we care!" Steven growled and squeezed the coffee creamer bottle in his hand.

"Oh really?! You guys care now?!" He then turned around and put a smile on his face. "It's not like you were there last night to watch me cry to sleep. Oh and hey if you see Connie tell her I'm not available today. I want to be alone today." He gave pearl a side eye before pouring the creamer in his coffee. He mixed it with a butter knife before tossing it into the sink and quietly made his way back upstairs.

"Steven." Garnet called out having him pause mid step. She didn't move from her spot to look at him continued to talk. "There was a reason we left you behind yesterday." Steven frowned and tightened his fist.

"Oh yea? Explain then." Garnet frowned and crossed her arms.

"It was too dangerous. You still have to work on your powers." Steven growled and turned towards her.

"WHICH IS EXACLTY WHY I WANTED TO GO! I WANTED TO PRACTICE ON MY POWERS BUT NOOOOOO! You all snuck behind my back...and left me here." He wiped his tears away and stood still.

"Steven." Amethyst called out softly. He glared at her and made his way back to his room. He sat down on his bed and grabbed his phone and turned it on seeing messages from Connie.

Hey Steven!

Hey Steven are you alright?

Steven!

I'm coming over!

He simply rolled his eyes and sighed. He didn't want to see her right now. He quietly put on black sweats, slipped on his pink jacket and opened his sliding door. He jumped down and slowly flew to the ground making sure the coffee didn't spill before leaving and making his way towards the farm house Peridot and Lapis stayed. He quickly slid open the door and smiled seeing Lapis laying down on a hammock reading a book while Peridot was scrolling on her computer. Lapis turned towards him and sat up.

"What's up Steven?" He shrugged and walked over towards Lapis sitting down next to her.

"Eh, I've been better." Peridot paused her video she was watching and turned towards him.
