Wounds

Cease this never ending pain
And return the peace once again

This war seems to never end,
So do the wounds on the soldiers' hands.

Where we started
Now where do we go,
No one seems to really know.

This war has been going on for too long
Families are shattered, parents are gone

From all of this what do we gain
Except for the never-ending pain

Hatred has this war initiated
And the price we all have incurred

Anger and hate is terribly mixed
But if we try, can have it fixed.

All that matters is that first step
And the others will follow, covering the gap

Repent don't repeat, is the mantra we should follow
Or else the world is going to overflow with sorrow!
