You taught me right from wrong
And helped me get along.
You shielded me from the world at large
And taught me to stay strong and never barge.
Lulling me to sleep at night with your beautiful song
You helped the happy dreams prolong.
You are the person I strive to be
And you mean everything to me
How grateful I am for you I hope you see
I cried with my head on your shoulder,
When in life I was faced by boulders
You are always there to wipe my tears,
And you showed me how to face my fears
Your cooking is a blessing I must say,
Your contagious smile lights up my day
You were there when I first walked
And you were the one who taught me to talk
Sometimes I may be lazy
And I drive you completely crazy
But without you my world is hazy
