Mary's POV
We were working a case where a teen girl scratched her brains out. I was looking around with Dean, we turned the corner and a kid looked at us. "Whatcha lookin' for?" He asked. "Don't know yet." I said honestly to him. "It's, uh, Jimmy, right?" Dean asked, oh that's the kids name, Jimmy nodded. "So, Amber was your babysitter?" I asked. "Yes, ma'am and sir." Jimmy said. "Yeah, most of my babysitters sucked." Dean and I said. "Especially Ms. Chancey. She only cared about two things. Dynasty and bedtime." Dean said. "Did you, uh, you see anything strange that night?" I asked. "No, ma'am and sir." Jimmy said nervous."You sure about that?" Dean asked. "I—I would tell you if I knew something. I promise. One hundred percent. Cross my heart." Jimmy lied. "Well, Jimmy, I, uh...I happen to know you're lying." I said. "I'm not." Jimmy assured. "We gonna start talking truth, or are you and me gonna have to take a little trip downtown?" Crystal said standing in the doorway, Jimmy told us everything that he made Amber itch her brains out by itching powder and gave us the bag of it. We were leaving, and I had the bag. "Kid said he put this on the babysitter's hairbrush." I said. "Guys, there's no way itching powder made that girl scratch her brains out. It's just ground-up maple seeds." Sam said. "If you have any other theories, we're open to 'em." Crystal said, one of our phones rang and Kara answered it. "Yeah? ...Yeah, we'll be right there." Kara said and hung up. "Another death?" Alison asked. Kara nodded, we all got in different cars, we had Hermes pick up Evelyn since she needed more practice hunting. We got to the morgue and they unzipped a fresh dead body. "What happened?" I asked. "Guy got electrocuted." The doctor said. "Any idea how?" Ricky asked. "Eh, maybe a loose wire or a piece of equipment shorted out. So far, we haven't found anything." The doctor said. "Witnesses?" Alison asked. "Yeah, guy in there—Mr. Stanley. He says he saw it, but he's not making a lick of sense. Senile." The doctor said. "Thanks." Sam said and we walked over to Mr. Stanley. "Um, Mr. Stanley?" Kara asked politely. "It was just a joke. I didn't know it would really work." Mr. Stanley said. "What would work?" Crystal asked. "All I did was shake his hand." Mr. Stanley said showing a joy buzzer. We were back at the motel I had on goggles and rubber gloves smirking at an uncooked ham. "You ready?" I asked smiling. "Hit it, Miss. Wizard." Ricky said, as the others put on goggles. I shocked the ham cooking it and I smiled. "That'll do, pig." I said taking the goggles off. "What the hell?" Sam and Kara asked and I took a piece of ham eating it. "It's good meat." I said chewing. "That crap isn't supposed to work." Crystal said. "This thing doesn't even have batteries." Dean said showing them it had no batteries. "So... so, what? Are—are we looking at cursed objects?" Sam asked. "Sounds good." Ricky said eating more ham and Dean cut off some. "Maybe there's a powerful witch in town." Dean said eating a slice. "Is there any link between the, uh, the joy buzzer and the itching powder?" I asked. "Uh, one was made in China, the other Mexico, but they were both bought from the same store." Kara said and took some ham and ate it. "Wants some?" I asked Sam and Alison. "I'm good." They said in unison. We were heading to the store and we saw a guy wearing a hat and trench coat, who looked exactly like Sam, Siren. "Oh goodie the Wayward Winchester's." He said. "Why are you dressed like the 1940s?" Alison asked. "I'm bored so I join you all." Siren said. "Fine but you're riding in Ricky's car." Crystal said. "Why us?" Ricky asked. "I have to ride with Alice he rides with you and Mae." Crystal said. "Don't do anything stupid." I said to Siren. We walked into the joke store and looked around. "Guys!" Dean yelled and we saw a whoopee cushion, we all gave him a seriously look and Dean put it back. "Welcome to the Conjurarium, sanctum of magic and mystery." The owner said. "You the owner?" Kara asked. "Yep." The owner said. "You sold any itching powder or joy buzzers lately?" I asked. "Yeah, a grand total of one of each. They aren't exactly big-ticket items. Look, you kids here to buy something or what?" The owner asked. I took a can of invisible spray and paid for it. "So, you get many customers?" I asked. "Kids come in. They don't buy much, but they're more than happy to break stuff. These days, all they care about are their iPhones and those kissing-vampire movies. The whole thing makes me just..." The owner trailed off at the end. "Angry?" Ricky asked. "Yeah. Yeah, I am angry. This shop has been my life for twenty years, and now it's wasting away to nothing." The owner said. "Which is why you hate them." Crystal said leaning on the counter. "I suppose." The owner said thinking. "You wish there was something you could do about it." Dean said. "Yeah, I guess I do." The owner said. "So you're taking revenge." Siren said, smirking. "With this." I said and pressed the joy buzzer on the rubber chicken causing it to burn. "Oh! No!" The owner said shocked. "Yeah, something tells me this guy is not a powerful witch." Sam said to us glaring. "Sorry. Sorry." We all apologized. We were now at the hospital since a guy ended up having all his teeth taken out by someone. We found Siren and Crystal talking to a nurse. "Well, I, uh, appreciate that, Nurse Fremont." Siren said. "Please call me Jen." Jen said. "Oh. Jen it is." Siren said showing a flirty smile, one thing I learned is that Siren is more flirty than Sam, has no filter, and can be kinda a dick. Jen left and the other cleared their throats he turned to us. "What's up with Toothless? Cavity creeps get ahold of him?" Crystal asked. "Yeah. Close. He wrote up a description." I said showing them. "Five foot ten, three hundred fifty pounds, wings, and a pink tutu. Said it was the tooth fairy." Kara said. "So he's obviously whacked out on painkillers." Dean said. "Maybe. Whatever it was got past locked doors and windows without triggering the alarm." Sam said. "Come on. Tooth fairy?" Alison said. "And it left thirty-two quarters underneath his pillow. One for each tooth." Ricky said. "Well, we will see your crazy and raise you some. There's a couple of kids upstairs with stomach ulcers—say they got it from mixing Pop Rocks and Coke. Another guy...his face...froze that way." Siren said smirking. "What way?" Sam asked and Siren pulled out the sides of his mouth and crossed his eyes. "He, uh, held it too long, and it—it stuck. They're flying in a plastic surgeon." Crystal said smacking Siren to stop making that horrible face "So, I mean, if you add all that up. I got nothing." I said. "That's a first." Kara said and I rolled my eyes at her. We walked down the hallway. "I thought sea-monkeys were real." Ricky said. "They are. They're brine shrimp." Sam said. "No, no, no, I mean like in the ads. You know, like the sea-monkey wife cooks the pot roast for the sea-monkey husband, and the sea-monkey kids play with the dog in a sea-monkey castle—real. I mean, I was six, but I believed it." Ricky said. "I think you believed that longer than six." Alison said. "Fine I realized it wasn't real until I was 19." Ricky said. "Okay." Kara and Sam said not getting what Ricky was saying. "Point is, maybe that's the connection. The tooth fairy, the Pop Rocks and Coke, the joy buzzer that shocks you—they're all lies that kids believe." Ricky said. "And now they're coming true. Okay, so whatever's doing this is—is reshaping reality. It has the powers of a god. Or of a trickster." Alison said. "Yeah, with the sense of humor of a nine-year-old." Dean said. "Or you and Siren." I said, they glared at me. We were sitting at the table in the motel eating ham. "Guys, seriously—still with the ham?" Sam said seeing Kara, Dean, Ricky, and I eating. "We don't have a fridge." Ricky and I defended. Well, we found something." Alison said putting down a map. "Um, tooth fairy attack was here, Pop Rocks and Coke was here, then you've got itching powder, face freeze, and joy buzzer—all located within a two-mile radius." Sam said showing the red Xs. "So, we got a blast zone of weird, and inside, fantasy becomes reality." Crystal asked sitting on a bed. "Looks like." Alison said. "And what's the A-bomb at its center?" I asked. "Four acres of farmland...and a house." Sam said. "Our motel isn't in that circle, by any chance?" Siren and Crystal asked. "Yeah. Why?" Kara asked looking at the map and we saw Crystal and Siren has hairy hands. "Guys." I said. "That's not what we think it is, is it?" Alison said. "We got bored." Siren said. "That nurse was hot." Crystal said. "You know you can go blind from that, too." Ricky said. "Give us five minutes. We'll go check out that house." Siren said and him and Crystal got up. "Hey, do not use my razor!" Sam said. "No promises, Twinny." Siren said. "How come you guys don't have a doppelgänger?" Sam asked. "Angel." Alison said. "Demigod." I said. "Human." Ricky and Dean said. "Kara?" He asked. "Only child." Kara said. We got to a house and Sam was picking the lock but a young boy opened the door. "Can I help you?" He asked seeing us. "Hi. Uh, what's your name?" Sam asked him. "Who wants to know?" The kid asked. "The, uh..." Crystal trailed off. "FBI." I said and we all showed our badges, he took mine, thank gods Ma and Pa made the most real FBI badges out there to use. "Let me see that." He said and looked at it and handed it back we put them away. "So, what, you guys don't knock?" He asked, confused. "Are your parents home?" Ricky asked the kid. "They work." He replied. "Well, you mind if we ask you a few questions, maybe take a look around the house?" Ricky said. "I don't know." The kid said uneasy. "Come on. You can trust us. We're the authorities." Kara said. "Trust us." Alison said showing her badge. The kid let us in and we walked in the kitchen where soup was cooking. "What's that?" Sam asked. "It's called soup. You heat it up and you eat it." The kid said. "Right. I, I know. It's just, um...I used to make my own dinner, too, when I was a kid." Sam said. "Same." We all replied. "Well, I'm not a kid." The kid said, yeah right and I not a teenager. "Right your not. I'm Lydia, by the way." I said and the kid shook my hand. "Jesse." Jesse introduced. "Jesse, nice to meet you." I said. I saw Dean holding a drawing of what looked like Dionysus just in a pink tutu with wings. "Did you draw this?" Dean asked. "It's the tooth fairy." Jesse said, I wanted to laugh so hard at seeing Dionysus hearing this. "That's what you think the tooth fairy looks like, huh?" Kara said. "Yeah. My dad told me about him." Jesse said. "Huh." Alison said. "What, didn't your dads tell you about the tooth fairy?" Jesse asked. "My dad? My dad told me different stories." Ricky said. "Well, the tooth fairy isn't a story." Jesse said. "What do you know about itching powder, Jesse?" Siren asked. "That stuff will make you scratch your brains out." Jesse said. "Pop Rocks and Coke?" Crystal asked. "You mix them, and you'll end up in the hospital. Everyone knows that." Jesse said. "This?" I asked taking out the joy buzzer, probably knowing the answer. "You shouldn't have that." Jesse said. "Why not?" I asked him. "It can electrocute you." Jesse said, yep he's somehow behind all this. "Actually, it can't. It's just a wind-up toy. It's totally harmless. Doesn't even have batteries." I said showing him. "So it can't shock you?" Jesse asked. "Nope. Not at all. I swear." I said. "Oh. Okay." Jesse said. "I mean, all it does is just shake in your hand. It's kind of lame. See?" I pressed the joy buzzer on Siren and shocked him he glares at me pissed. "What did you say your name was, again?" Kara asked. We left and Siren looked at me. "Woman, what the hell?" Siren asked. "I had a hunch. I went with it." I said. "You risked Siren's ass on a hunch?" Sam asked. "He's fine. Besides, now we know who's turning this town into Willy Wonka's worst nightmare." I said. "The kid." Alison said realization hitting her. "Yeah. Everything Jesse believes comes true. He thinks the tooth fairy looks like Dionysus, uh, joy buzzers really shock people, boom, that's what happens." I said. "Yeah, but convince him the joy buzzers don't actually work, and they go from killing machines back into crap toys." Crystal said. "He probably doesn't even know he's doing it." Dean said. "How is he doing it?" Ricky asked. "I don't know but I know why they call this a joy buzzer. Siren's pain brings me joy." I said getting in Ricky's car. We were back at the motel and I was reading the email Ma sent me on what the kid could be. "So, dug up what we could on Jesse Turner." Sam said and we all looked at Sam and Kara. "It's not much. Uh, B student, won last year's Pinewood Derby." Kara said. "But get this. Jesse was adopted. His birth records are sealed." Sam said. "So you unsealed them, and?" Ricky asked. "There's no father listed, but Jesse's biological mom is named Julia Wright. She lives in Elk Creek, on the other side of the state." Kara said. "Time for a little detour." Alison said. I stood up and got in a car with Ricky and Siren who we found out will shut up if you give him a sucker. We got to Julia's house and knocked on the door. "Whatever you're selling, I'm not interested." Julia, I guess, said through the closed door. "We're not salesmen. Agents Page, Kendrick, Lennox, Carter, Rogers, and Plant's, FBI." Dean said. We held our badges through the peephole. "Put your badge in the slot. Your partner's, too." Julia said we did that and we heard a bunch of locks undo and she handed our badges back. "What do you want?" She asked. "Um... We just had a few questions. About your son." Sam said. "I don't have a son." Julia lied. "He was born March twenty-ninth, nineteen ninety-eight, in Omaha." Ricky said. "You put him up for adoption?" I asked. "What about him?" Julia asked. "We were just wondering, um, was it...was it a normal pregnancy?" Crystal asked her. "Was there anything strange?" Dean asked. "Stay away from me!" Julia yelled slamming the door. "Mrs. Wright, wait!" Kara said we got in and she ran into the kitchen which we got through just fine. "We just want to talk!" Alison said. Julia three salt at us Crystal was behind us so she didn't get hit, thank gods. "You're not demons?" Julia asked. "How do you know about demons?" Crystal asked. We all sat at the table and Crystal promised she was a good demon and I confirmed it. "I was possessed. A demon took control of my body, and I hurt people. I killed people." Julia said. "That, that wasn't you." Siren said. "But I was there. I heard a woman beg for mercy. I...felt a young girl's blood drip down my hands." Julia said. "That's how you knew about the salt." Ricky said. "Yeah, I picked up tricks. It was in my head for months." Julia said. "How many months?" I asked. "Nine." Julia replied. "So your son..." Sam trailed off. "Yeah, the whole time. The pregnancy, birth—all of it. I was possessed. The night the baby was born, I was alone. And the pain was—the pain was overwhelming. I, I screamed, and it came out a laugh, because the demon was happy. It used my body to give birth to a child. When it was over, something changed. Maybe the—the demon was tired or if the pain helped me fight it, but... Somehow, I took control. And the demon wailed inside me. It pounded against my skull. I thought my head was gonna explode. But I knew. I knew what I had to do. And when I was alone with the baby... A part of me...part of me wanted to kill it. But, God help me, I couldn't do that. So, I put it up for adoption, and I ran." Julia said. "Who was the father?" Kara asked. "I was a virgin. Have you seen my son? Is he human?" Julia asked. "His name's Jesse. He lives in, uh, Alliance. He's a good kid." Alison sai, Julia nodded. We left and we all shared a look. "So, now what?" Siren asked. "We need help." Dean said. We got to the motel and Marina and Castiel were there. Marina kissed Sam and Castiel kissed Ricky. "I take it you got our message." I said closing the door. "It's lucky you found the boy." Marina said. "Oh, yeah, real lucky. What do we do with him?" Alison asked. "Kill him." Castiel said and Ricky stopped taking off his tie and we all stared at the two angels. "Cas." Ricky said. "This child is half demon and half human, but it's far more powerful than either. Other cultures call this hybrid cambion or katako. You know him as the antichrist." Castiel said and Castiel sat down on a whoopie cushion and we all couldn't stop smiling except Sam, Marina, and Alison. "That wasn't me." Castiel said and he pulled out the whoopie cushion. "Who put that there?" Dean asked. "Anyway, I don't get it. Jesse is the devil's son?" Sam asked. "No, of course not. Your Bible gets more wrong than it does right. The antichrist is not Lucifer's child. It's just demon spawn. But it is one of the devil's greatest weapons in the war against heaven." Marina said. "Well, if Jesse's a demonic howitzer, then what the hell's he doing in Nebraska?" I said. "The demons lost him. They can't find him. But they're looking." Castiel said. "And they lost him because?" Kara asked confused. "Because of the child's power. It hides him from both angels and demons. For now." Marina said. "So he's got, like, a force field around him. Well, that's great. Problem solved." Siren said happy to be done. "With Lucifer risen, this child grows strong. Soon, he will do more than just make a few toys come to life—something that will draw the demons to him. The demons will find this child. Lucifer will twist this boy to his purpose. And then, with a word, this child will destroy the Host of Heaven." Crystal said and we all stared at her kinda shocked. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. You're saying that—that Jesse's gonna nuke the angels?" I asked. "We cannot allow that to happen." Marina said. "Wait. We're the good guys. We—we don't just—kill children." Sam said. "Cassie, I'm with Sam on this one." Marina said. "A year ago, you would have done whatever it took to win this war." Castiel said to Sam and Marina. "Things change." Sam said taking Marina's hand in his. "Okay. Hey, look, we are not going to kill him. All right? But we can't leave Jesse here either. We know that. So...we take him to Bobby's. He'll know what to do." Ricky said. "You'll kidnap him? What is going on in this town, it's what happens when this thing is happy. You cannot imagine what it will do if it's angry. Besides, how will you hold him? With a thought, he could be halfway around the world." Castiel said. "So we tell him the truth. You say Jesse's destined to go dark side—fine. But he hasn't yet. So if we lay it all out for him—what he is, the apocalypse, everything—he might make the right choice." Alison said. "You didn't. And I can't take that chance." Castiel said. "Cas don't do anything rash." Ricky said but Castiel was already gone. "Damn it." Marina said. "So hopefully Cas won't kill the kid." Kara said we all looked at her. We all got in cars and Ricky sped to Jesse's house we got there and we kicked in the door seeing Jesse. "Was there a guy here? In a trench coat?" Marina asked. Jesse pointed to a floor where a small doll of Castiel had a knife. "Was he your friend?" Jesse asked as Ricky set the doll Castiel on the mantel. "More like boyfriend." Ricky said. "I did that. But how did I do that?" Jesse said. "You're a superhero." I lied. "I am?" Jesse asked. "Yeah. Yeah. I mean, who else could turn someone into a toy? You're Superman—minus the cape and the go-go boots. See, my—my partners and I, we work for a secret government agency. It's our job to find kids with special powers. In fact, we're here to take you to a hidden base in South Dakota, where you'll be trained to fight evil." I said, sure I'm lying but hey what kid doesn't like superheroes. "Like the X-Men?" Jesse asked, good the kid knows Marvel. "Exactly like the X-Men. In fact, the, uh, guy we're taking you to—he's even in a wheelchair. You'll be a hero. You'll save lives. You'll get the girl. Sounds like fun, right?" I asked and Dean and Ricky were flung against a wall and we looked and saw demon Julia. "They're lying to you. Stay right there, dreamboat. Can't hurt you or the Princess. Orders. You two, on the other hand? Hurting you's encouraged." The demon said going to hurt Dean and Ricky. I flung her away and she just smiled getting up and made me stay in the chair. "Leave them alone!" Jesse said. "Jesse. You're beautiful. You have your father's eyes." The demon said. "Who are you?" Jesse asked. "I'm your mother." The demon said. "No, you're not." Jesse said. "Mm-hm. You're half human...half one of us." The demon said. "She means demons, Jesse!" Siren yelled and the demon threw Siren and Siren was knocked unconscious. "Those people you call your parents—they lied to you, too. You're not theirs—not really." The demon said. "My mom and dad love me." Jesse defended. "Do they? Is—is that why they leave you alone all day? Because they love you so much? These people—these imposters—they told you that the tooth fairy was real and that your toys could hurt you and a hundred other things that aren't true. They love you so much, they made your whole life a lie. Look into your heart, Jesse. You've always known you weren't theirs. You've always known you were different. Everyone has lied to you. They're not FBI agents. And you're not a superhero." The demon said. "Then what am I?" Jesse asked the demon. "You're powerful. You can have anything you want. You can do anything you want." The demon said. "Don't listen to her, Jesse!" Crystal said. "They treated you like a child. Nobody trusted you. Everybody's lied to you. Doesn't that make you angry? See? It does make you angry. But I'm telling you the truth, Jesse. Wouldn't it be better if there were no lies? Come with me and you can wash it all clean. Start over. Imagine that—a world without lies." The demon said. "She's right. We lied to you." Sam said. "But I'll tell you the truth." Marina said and the demon made Marina fall to the ground in pain and Sam kneeled down time Marina. "Stop it. I want to hear what she has to say." Jesse said making the Demon sit in a chair. "You're stronger than I thought." The demon said Marina stood up with Sam. "We lied to you. And we're sorry. So here's the truth. I'm Marina, that's Sam Winchester, brother, Dean, his sister Mary, my sister Alison, and our friends Ricky, Crystal, Kara and Siren." Marina said. "W-we hunt monsters." Sam said. "Except when you are the monster. Right, Sammy and Kari." The demon said. "And that woman right there, her name is Julia. She's your mother. But the thing inside of her, the thing that you're talking to—it's a demon." Kara said. "A demon?" Jesse asked. "He's done nothing but lie to you since the moment you met him. Don't listen to him. Punish him." The demon said. "Sit down and shut up." Jesse said. "There's, uh, kind of a...a war between angels and demons, and...you're a part of it." Alison said. "I'm just a kid." Jesse said. "You can go with her if you want. We can't stop you. No one can. But if you do...millions of people will die." I said. "She said I was half demon. Is that true?" Jesse asked. "Yes. But you're half human, too. You can do the right thing. You've got choices, Jesse. But if you make the wrong ones, it'll haunt you for the rest of your life." Crystal said to Jesse. "Why are you telling me this?!" Jesse yell asked. "Because we have to believe someone can make the right choice, even if we couldn't." Sam said to Jesse. "Get out of her." Jesse said and the chair the demon sat in slid across the room and the demon left Julia's body, I saw Ricky and Dead drop to the ground gasping for air. "How did you do that?" Ricky asked. "I just did." Jesse said. "Kid... you're awesome." Dean said. We looked at the chair Julia was in Siren was still unconscious. "Is she gonna be all right?" Jesse asked. "Eventually." Kara said. Ricky picked up the doll Castiel toy. "Look, uh, is there any way you could turn him back?" Ricky asked. "He tried to kill me." Jesse said. "Right. Uh. But he's a—he's a good guy. He was just confused." Dean said. "Okay. It's been a long night. We'll...talk about it later." Alison said. "What now?" Jesse asked us. "Now we take you someplace safe, get you trained up. You'd be handy in a fight, kid." I said looking at him. "What if I don't want to fight?" Jesse asked. "Jesse. You're powerful. More powerful than...pretty much anything we've ever seen. That makes you..." Crystal trailed off. "A freak." Jesse said. "To some people, maybe. But not to us. See, we're kind of freaks ourselves." Ricky said. "I can't stay here, can I?" Jesse asked. "No. The demons know where you are, and more will be coming." I said. "I won't go without my mom and dad." Jesse said. "There's nothing more important than family. We get that. And if you really want to take them with you, we'll back your play. But you got to understand—it's gonna be dangerous for them, too." Sam said, to the kid. "What do you mean?" Jesse asked. "Our dad...he would take us with him wherever he went." I said. "Where is he now?" Jesse asked. "Dead. A demon killed him." I said. "Look, Jesse...once you're in this fight... You're in it till the end, win or lose." Dean said. "What should I do?" Jesse asked. "We can't tell you. It's your choice. It's not fair. I know." Dean said. "Can I go see my parents? I, I need to...say goodbye." Jesse asked. "Sure." Kara said. Jesse went upstairs and Siren woke up. "Did I get her?" He asked. "Not even close." Crystal said. Marina picked up doll Castiel looking at it. "He's been up there a long time." I said. We went upstairs and looked and saw it was empty. "He's gone." Castiel said. "Where?" Ricky asked. "I don't know. Jesse put everyone in town back to normal—the ones still alive. Then he vanished." Castiel said. Sam picked up a note. "Hey." Sam said. "What does it say?" Alison said. "That he had to leave to keep his parents safe, that he loves them, and he's sorry." Sam said. "How do we find him?" Dean asked. "With the boy's powers, we can't. Not unless he wants to be found." Marina said. We were in the Jaguar and I was almost asleep. "You think Jesse's gonna be okay?" Ricky asked. "I hope so." I said sighing. "You know, we destroyed that kid's life by telling him the truth." Ricky said. "We didn't have a choice, Ricky." I said. "Yeah. You know, I'm starting to get why parents lie to their kids. You want them to believe that the worst thing out there is mixing Pop Rocks and Coke—protect them from the real evil. You want them going to bed feeling safe. If that means lying to them, so be it." Ricky said. "You know, the more I think about it... the more I wish my Dad had lied to me." I said.
