FRIGID. Loki had eyes that could turn the most fearsome of enemies into frigid slabs of icy stone when provoked. His calculating, frosty glare weathered its victim with fierce, unrelenting flurries, revealing the blizzard of a storm constantly swirling inside of him that he kept well hidden behind a charming smile. He was a man of ice, burdened with glorious purpose, and as his frigid eyes surveilled the small family as they entered the throne room, he couldn't help but feel as though something was awry.

"What a rather peculiar bunch." Frigga whispered softly, though Loki's trained ear caught onto her words and he found himself nodding in agreement.

Of course, Loki had met Valgor before. Seeing as he was the god of war, the white haired man had been a visitor at the palace on more than one occasion by request of his Father, though the other two he had never seen before. The son was tall and lean, with dark beady eyes that could stare into the depths of one's soul and snatch it from their very being. He wore a single brown leather riding glove on his right hand, and his shoulder length hair was as stark white as his father's.

The daughter was the opposite, being rather short with tender eyes filled to the brim with fright as she carefully took each step. Unlike her brother who marched triumphantly alongside their father, she lagged behind a few paces , her head hanging low as though she felt she wasn't supposed to be there.

She was quite the rarity in regard to the regular verity of women on Asgard who were usually more muscular with hardened demeanors, and callous attitudes that demanded respect. But despite her gem like radiance and foreign appeal, Loki suspected that if she'd ever got herself into a unpleasant situation she'd most definitely not be able to find a way out for herself- which wasn't at all very attractive— Thor may fancy gentle women who he could easily defend at a moments notice, but Loki desired an independent who could stand their own in a fight.

For a brief moment fire and ice met in a haze of emerald and sapphire, but was quickly broken as the trio came to an abrupt stop at the base of the throne's steps. All three knelt into a low bow.

"Rise." The booming voice of Odin echoed across the room, and dutifully, they all rose. It was silent for a brief moment, before both Valgor and Odin broke into smiles.

"So this is the son you spoke of, Valgor? And you truly believe he could be of use to us?" Viktor blushed a mild ruby whilst Serena slouched into herself more, even more uncomfortable than she previously thought possible.

"Yes, indeed. He will be of much use to our effort. I have trained him well." Valgor said.

"And what of your battalion?"

"Half should be here in a day or so, the rest are currently still on Vanaheim completing their training, they should be here in roughly a fortnight." Odin nodded, his singular eye scanning the family before him with unwavering harshness, though it seemed only Serena cowered in fear.

"I suppose that will do, but I want your men on an accelerated course. This war will be a bloody one, I have foreseen it."

"As you wish." Once more silence engulfed the room, a suffocating, palpable silence that made Serena feel as if she were choking.

"There is to be a feast tonight, in celebration of your return. I hope you will all attend as you are the guests of honour." Frigga said, clearly attempting to calm the unease that had washed over the room.

Valgor bowed his head in respect, "I would not miss it even if I were dead, My Queen."

Frigga smiled, "Then we shall see you all tonight!"

Standing from his throne, Odin slowly made his way down the steps. "Asta and Alva will escort your children to their rooms, Valgor, I wish to speak to you in private."

From the shadows emerged two identical girls, each with long brown hair that flowed past their waist that was tied back into a complex series of knots and pale complexions that light seemed to bounce off of. Each girl took hold of one of the newcomer's arms and guided them out of the room.

"Well that was brief." Loki muttered his posture relaxing slightly. Thor nodded, though his eyes trailed the retreating figures like a starved dog watches a bone.

"A marvel among women, do you not agree?" Thor spoke with a certain tenderness in his voice that Loki couldn't help but roll his eyes to.

"Were you not just weeping over that dreadful Amora but only a moment ago?" He scoffed, "There is none like my Amora! Her beauty outlives the Nine Realms!"

Thor ignored his brother's snarky taunting "Loki, did you even look at the girl? She was a ripe vision."

"I hardly doubt she outmatches the Enchantress, the girl couldn't even meet your eye. You're far too brash for her, brother."

"Your tongue is coated in too much silver, and your eyes are far too cruel to admit the truth. I reckon you will notice her beauty tonight when she is dressed like an Asgardian."

"I doubt she will look any different sniveling in the corner like a frightened dog."

"Mind your manners Loki, I did not raise such an ill mannered man." Frigga snapped, her eyes striking harshly on the tall boy. Loki's eyes twinkled with mischief as he gave his mother a slanted smile,

"Of course, Mother. My apologies."
