those hot summer nights
still burn behind my eyelids.knew i was in too deep
when i caught myself
thinking about your lips in the middle of the afternoon.
should've known better;
but it was too hard to resist,
you were too hard to resist
"trainwreck waiting to happen".it was a blur of
stars and lanterns and
your eyes,
hard lemonade and popcorn and
your lips,
a dying sunset and weathered blanket and
your fingers gently intertwined
with mine,
the gentle breeze and damp grass and
how your waist felt
in my hands,
khalid on repeat while your laugh echoed into the night and
how my heart felt
pounding
in my chest.6/22/20
