"You were right: he really is a good singer." Jacob said. At the same time our food, along with Jaskier, arrived at our table. I couldn't help but look most of the time at Geralt. There's something about him that catches me, that fascinates me. Even tho it was a date between Jacob and me, my attention was mainly on the Witcher and Jaskier. I felt bad for Jacob.

"Tell me, Jacob." Jaskier began and Jacob nodded smiling and him. "What are your plans with my friend over here?" He asked and pointed at me. Jacob chuckled and put his hand on mine. "Best would be that this date turns out good, we start a relationship and marry someday." He said as he looked into my eyes. I almost choked on my food. I couldn't look directly into his. I looked at our hands. Now that I am sitting here with him and hearing him say that I do really feel flattered but I can't see myself married to this man. I chuckled dryly. It was faked but hoped nobody noticed. I said nothing but still got expecting looks from Jaskier and Jacob. Geralt didn't seem to care. Of course. He just wants to be by himself but now he does not only have to deal with Jaskier but with me and Jacob.

"How was your journey with Geralt?" I asked and looked at Jaskier but quickly turned my gaze to Geralt who gave me a quick glance as well. I needed to change the subject. "Oh, magnificent. Wasn't it, Geralt?" he said. "Hm." The white-haired man just groaned at his traveling companion. "We saved a princess." Jaskier proudly said but this look disappeared almost immediately. "Geralt- Geralt saved a princess."

"I bet you would fit perfectly in our traveling. I mean you're really good with swords. How about it, Geralt?" Jaskier asked. "I remember you being almost killed by drowned dead." Geralt said as he took another sip from his cup. "No, I did not." I protested and crossed my arms. "It was just that I don't have a silver sword. That's all. If I've had one back then I would've easily taken them down." I smirked at the Witcher. "Sure." he smirked back but his 'sure' was more sarcastically.

"Of course! I can easily prove that. I just have to get my father making me a silver sword." I said proudly but Geralt just rose one brow of his. "Oh, that look." Jaskier exclaimed. "Sounds like a duel!" Jaskier was more than excited. I looked over at Jacob - his expression wasn't very pleased. He looked shocked. Right... I never told him that I'm into swordsmanship. He got the expression of me as the ordinary girl of the village that is after traditional uses: marrying, having children but to be honest I was never keen on that as you can tell by me not being married at my age. I mean I still got around a year with my 20 years but it is uncommon for a girl to be unmarried at that age. And children. Thank you, I'm fine without them.

"Then, how about it, Geralt?" I asked the man, who sat in front of me. I smirked challenging and held my hand out for him to shake if he would accept. He sighs but took my hand. "Deal." he just said. "Tell me when your father's ready with your sword." he added and I nodded smiling. My hand felt warm by his touch. He had really warm and strong hands, other than Jacobs. Geralt's hand was rough and warm from the swords and reins. Jacobs hands were soft, he never really worked in his life.

After we ate up we still sat there. Jaskier was only talking about the duel and so was I. I was, too, very excited to prove that I am not that useless as Geralt might think. Jacob didn't talk much. He tried to hold my hand or did little things like touching my shoulder or so to get my attention. Of course, he got it because we still had a date.

"Eve?" I turned my head towards Jacob and gave him a questioning look for him to go on. "Let's have a little walk, just the two of us." he said as he looked at Jaskier to prevent him from going with us. I nodded and got up. "We'll be back soon." I said as we left the room. It was just as last night: the sun sets and it was a little cool.

"My, my, I didn't know that you were into swordsmanship." he chuckles as we walk past the tavern. I scratched the back of my head. "Yeah, sorry I didn't tell you." I apologized.

"Is there anything else, I should know about you?" he smirked

"No, I think there are no more surprises, I guess."

"Are you enjoying the evening?" he changed the topic.

"Yes, very much. Thank you, for bringing me here."

"Are you sure about the duel with the Witcher? He's trained for years to slay monsters."

"I did as well... Well without a silver sword it's hard to fight monsters especially if you only fought humans."

Then it was silent for a moment. Nothing was to be heard but the muffled voices from the tavern. Then Jacob sighed. "About what the bard said." I tilted my head. "That you would make a good travel companion. Do you consider it?" he sounded sad. "Well..." I began but didn't know what to answer. "I don't know. It would be nice to travel the continent, I've never seen anything in my life yet I don't want to leave father behind in the village."

"Am I not one of the people you don't want to leave behind?" he asked and I stopped and looked up at him. "I guess... you are." I said and he began smiling. He leaned down and the next thing I knew was that his lips were on mine. My eyes widened. I didn't know what to do. I don't know if this felt right since it was my first kiss. But I felt nothing... I think a kiss is supposed to feel special, to feel warmth and comfort, but it was far from those things. He pulled away before I could react. I was still petrified on the spot, my mouth agape and my eyes wide. He chuckled at me. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take you by surprise like that." I shook my head to get rid of my current expression. "N-No, it's- it's alright." I stuttered.
