The two lovers laid on the floor on the fluffy blankets. Both of them still being naked and wrapped in covers. They were staring at each other for more than ten minutes now. Evelyn took in every feature of his face, how his lips twitch when he catches her staring at his muscular chest his eyes wandering down to her lips and back to her eyes. Both of them were head over heels for each other and that didn't change in one and a half decades.
"Do you regret it?" it came out of Evelyn's mouth as she traced a scar on his chest with her finger. "Becoming a Witcher?" she continued her question at what Geralt sighed. "It's hard to regret something you didn't choose." he answered. "You didn't choose as well, do you regret it?" he asked back what made Evelyn smile. "No, not at all. Like that I can be with you longer." she stated what made him smile as well. "If I wasn't a Witcher I wouldn't have met you in the first place." that made her smile even more and she started to cuddle against his chest. "But if the choice had been yours, what would you have done instead? A farmer? A stableman?" Evelyn asked Geralt at what both of them chuckled. "Horses are good company. But if I ever dreamed of being something... other than what I am... it was too long ago to remember. But there is something I wanna be." he said adjusting his head on the pillow. "What would that be?" Evelyn asked and played with one of his silver locks. "Your husband." Evelyn chuckled smiling. "Since when are we so cheesy?" she asked herself and Geralt. "Since we have a child." Geralt answered talking about the Child Surprise.
"Come to speak of it, did you even wanted children yourself?" He asked Evelyn who shrugged. "I never wanted them... like ever and even if so, we won't have any, I don't want a child to live that way we do; on the road with constant travelling." she answered honestly. "But if we had a house and we weren't Witchers, what about it then?" he asked a pretending question. "Then maybe sometime, a small Geralt running around the house us being stableman and farmer." She laughed at what Geralt did as well.
The next morning they planned the next steps for the hunt. "At a quick pace, we can make it back to the Pensive Dragon before sundown." Geralt said as he stood with Evelyn at the edge of the mountain. "What are you talking about? We're almost at the top." she said but then realized what he meant. "I'm not leaving till we make it to the dragon." she said putting her hands on her hips. "Eve, what for?" he asked while Evelyn grabbed her bag. "I promised it to Borch, okay?" she asked and then looked at the now-empty camp. "Where are those fucking dwarfs?" she asked looking around. "Has anyone seen these fuckers of dwarfs?!" Yennefer shouted angrily as she saw the two Witchers who both shook their heads. Evelyn started to walk the path to the lair to find the dwarfs, Yennefer was right next to her.
They found the dwarfs not far from the cave entrance. Yennefer spoke elder and moved her hands in their direction and they froze on the spot. Geralt ran after them not letting his lover alone with a dragon, nor to let Yennefer kill it. Yennefer pulled out her little dagger and entered the cave along with Evelyn who was ready to draw her sword anytime.
At the end of the cave was a green dragon laying in front of a golden egg. It looked almost like it was sleeping but that wasn't true, the dragon was already dead. Both women gasped at that sight and stepped closer towards it. Before they even took two steps Téa and Véa appeared from around the corner warning them to get any closer. "What the fuck?" Yennefer asked in shock while Evelyn just frowned. "You should have stayed dead." Yennefer said and the two warriors pointed their swords at the other two women. "Stop!" A yelling was heard, Geralt to be exact.
"How?" he asked as he saw the two women who fell from the mountains along with Borch. "He's dead." Evelyn said as she looked over at the dragon. Téa shook her head. "She's dead." she corrected with gritted teeth. There was a loud roar coming from above the cave where another hole was. Through this, a large golden dragon came into the cave at which the two Witchers and the mage looked in awe. The dragon roared yet again as it landed behind the two warriors.
"Sir Witcher and his fiancée. Hello again." The dragon spoke what made Evelyn gasp slightly. "Impossible." Geralt spoke inspecting Borch in his dragon form. "When the dragoness was injured, her cry was heard by Villentretenmerth. But the egg could not be moved or the life inside it would die." Téa and Véa explained the situation. "That's why the dragon attacked." Geralt understood as he walked over to Evelyn to grab her hand. "She was protecting her baby." Evelyn mumbled as she looked over to the egg. "And then we heard about the Kings hunt, realized we had to keep our enemies close." Téa spoke. "So I came to find you, the white-haired Witcher, the knight who was taught to save dragons instead of killing them." Borch started why he started as well at the hunt. "And you, female Witcher, I knew you'd save them, too, since the White Wolf was your teacher. With your kind heart I could win you over which then was easier to then involve Geralt of Rivia." he said and bowed slightly with his head.
Growling and footsteps were heard. Someone was near the lair and it couldn't have been the dwarfs, they were still frozen. It could be then only one group who was left: the Reavers.
