PART 10

STEFAN ' S POV

I hate lying to her, hate to take advantage of her trust in me.

But it was necessary, it's better than to have her worried.

Elena finally laughed today, truly and deeply from the bottom

of her heart again, I couldn't have ruined it for her, couldn't

bring myself to put frowns and tears on her angelic face.

No, it wasn't the school that had called me about enrollment papers.

It was Bonnie. She only said it was something urgent involving

Katherine, and told me to meet up with her in the forest. I knew

the lame excuse with enrollment papers could not have gone

unnoticed by Damon, but I guess I'll have to leave that till later.

What has Katherine done this time?

"Hey." In no time, I reached the forest to find Bonnie already

waiting anxiously for me, her worry laid out on her face. Something

told me this was worse than anything I could imagine

"Great, you're here. We've got to move." she grabbed my hand

and led me deeper into the woods.

"I was trying to find another spell book Grams left me this

morning. Before she died, she told me when I got to the end of

the first spell book, I would be able to have the power to summon

the second. She also said it had to be done in this forest, which is t

he reason why I came here. You know I don't like it here Stefan,

too many horrible things have happened at this place. But if I hadn't..."

she trailed off, leaving me to think what exactly was she talking about.

"Here it is, see for yourself Stefan." we came to a stop about

20 yards away from a hut. A hut? There had never been one!

Where did it come from? As if on cue, Bonnie answered my unspoken question.

"I know, I was confused at first too. Try to look inside, I think you'll

why I called you here." What could possibly be going on in there?

"Why can't we just go inside and look? Why stay out here?" even though

being a vampire means I could see really well, I still couldn't quiet get

a clear image with the door to the hut half closed. It's not like I had x-ray vision.
