Synopsis:

For one week every year, mermaids are allowed to walk the earth with humans. They look just like normal women, with added beauty, cunning and charm. They seem harmless enough, but once a man goes home with one of them, it's likely he will never been seen again. This week on land has one purpose and one purpose only for the mermaids: to replenish their food supply, which consists of the blood of human males. Falling in love with a human is forbidden.

A young mermaid named Marina is just as excited as anyone else to find food, and quickly selects her target: Nick, a quiet guy who has a few secrets of his own.

When both mermaids and human men are found dead, Nick and Marina must team up to solve the mysteries of the murders, and neither can deny the growing attraction between them.

Author's Note:

I have been working on this book since 2015, when the idea was born in my 15 year old mind after I went through a mermaid phase as a kid. (Don't lie: we've all been there at some point.) I don't know how my brain thought up blood-sucking mermaids, but I was instantly fascinated with the idea. And The Switch is the manifestation of this idea.

It's far from perfect, but I am so proud to have finally finished my first book. It's been quite the experience, but I feel so much stronger for doing it. And if you've always had an idea in your head and want to write about it, do it. No matter how long it takes. It's worth it.
