WEEKS PASSED, as if it was a firebolt, and both Y/N, nor Draco noticed.

Everyday was just back to normal again, new gossip had been going around the school, so atleast now, the young couple weren't given dirty looks anymore, they could just mind their own business.

Although, something did bother Y/N. She hasn't talked to Draco yet, about why he didn't defend himself when Blaise messed everything up.

But she was gonna find out today.

It was a weekend, and the couple is just walking back to Hogwarts- stopping by the forbidden forest first, ofcourse.

They made their way into the forest, stopping at a familiar open space. Y/N smiled, seeing her thestral friend, "hello there, i'm sorry i haven't visited you in quite some time.", she said, stroking the thestral's head.

The creature hummed, as it was a calm one, and leaned its head on the girl's touch.

Draco watched as Y/N fed the thestral- or well, he saw the apple she gave disappear piece by piece. He couldn't help but smile, when he saw the girl's calm smile.

He walked towards her slowly, careful not to scare the thestral. He didn't really want to remake the scene that happened to him in third year.

"can i hold it?"

At that, Y/N looked at him, a smile creeping on her face. She let the thestral finish the apple, then backed away a bit, "it's actually a she."

The girl gestured him to the thestral, so the blonde slowly lift his hand up, not knowing where to put it.

A small giggle left Y/N's lips. She gently grabbed Draco's hand, and guided it on the thestral's head. The blonde's eyes slightly widen in surprise. He hasn't touched a thestral in his life- well, he hasn't seen one either.

"does she have a name?", Draco asked after a while of stroking the Thestral's head

Y/N shook her head, "no, i haven't given her a name. But i recognize her from the small scar on her face.", she said, smiling softly

The blonde nodded, "what if we give her a name right now?", he asked

With a slight laugh, the girl tilted her head at him, "and what name do you think would be perfect for her?", she asked

"i don't know?", Draco chuckled, "Apple, maybe?"

At that, Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, a laugh escaping her lips, "seriously, what is it with you and apples?"

The blonde playfully rolled his eyes, "i just like them-"

"i think like is an understatement.", Y/N cut him off, "your door literally has an apple on it!"

Draco couldn't help but laugh, "alright, alright. I have this weird obsession with apples. I mean- well i don't really know how to explain it."

Y/N laughed at him, and stroked the thestral's head, "then Apple it is.", she said, then Draco's words came back to her mind.

Explain. She remembered she needed an explanation.

Draco, noticing the girl's frown, faced her, and cupped her cheek, making her look up to him with sad eyes.

He furrowed his eyebrows in worry, "hey, what's wrong?", he asked softly.

The thestral, noticing that the two of them needed a moment, started walking away. Y/N heard Apple's footsteps, and so did Draco, so they knew she left.

A shaky sigh left the girl's lips, "we sort of need to talk.", she said, and smiled sadly. She took the blonde's hand, and pulled him towards the tree they normally sat on, the tree where they almost had their first kiss on.

The two sat down, "about what?", Draco asked, his voice showing worry

A moment of silence passed by, the tension wore thick, making Y/N frown more than she already is, "can we talk about what happened before break?"

Draco didn't need to ask what exactly she was talking about, because he knew exactly what she was talking about.

"ofcourse.", he said quietly, a small smile on his face, just to reassure her that it was okay to talk about it.

Y/N smiled a little, and looked down at her hands. Shw fiddled with them, "well, i just wanted to ask..", she trailed off

Draco took her hands, and held it tightly, even giving it a small kiss, "go on."

The girl sighed for the last time, and asked the question that's been bugging her since last month;

"why didn't you defend yourself that day? You just left me.. Hanging."

Draco saw it coming. If he was being honest, he didn't know why himself. All he knows is Blaise is the only friend he considers.

A tired sigh left his lips, before smiling sadly, "i thought that if i disagreed with Blaise, he'll change the way he treats me."

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, "what do you mean?"

"Blaise is the only person i consider as a friend, Y/N. Sure, there's Crabbe, and Goyle, but Blaise is the only one close to me. For the past seven years, we've been friends, and i didn't want to throw away that friendship just like that.", he said.

The girl looked down at their hands, "but you hurt me. Was it really worth it?"

Draco looked at her because of that. Was it worth it? Hurting the one you love for a friendship you held onto for so long?

No, it wasn't worth it. Besides, Blaise did treat him like trash, like he is doing now. Blaise doesn't hang out with him anymore, probably- or hopefully ashamed of what he's done.

A sigh left Draco's lips, "no it wasn't worth it. And i'm sorry.", he said.

Y/N looked up at him, and smiled. She looked into his eyes, and leaned in. Giving him a kiss, she chuckled.

The two shared a fairly long passionate kiss, then pulled away. A smile crept up on the both of their faces, making them laugh.

"i love you.", Y/N said, looking into the blonde's silver eyes.

Draco smiled, and tucked in a piece of her lose hair behind her ear

"and i love you.", was what he said, before once again leaning in, and capturing Y/N's lips.
