Emily's POV
After yesterday's incident, I can't emphasise how important it is to keep the two teams apart.
I couldn't care less about your friends on the other team. Just keep dance business out of the conversation. No questions asked.
Piper had to learn this the hard way. I had no choice but to give her spot on A-troupe to Amy. Yes, it may seem cruel because life isn't fair. It never is, and it will never be.
First off, sharing choreography with the enemy, is not the way to go. I know that east and west are only competing to determine who represents TNS in the Qualifiers. A competition stays a competition. I don't need to see choreography stolen right before my eyes. It's happened before.
The second thing, if Piper needed help, she should've asked Daniel or myself for private lessons. It wasn't necessary for her to go to Amy for help when she was not a part of our troupe.
I clapped my hands together, earning the dancers' attention. "Okay everybody, Amy is here to join us from today onwards."
"Wait what?" my eyes met Lola's.
"As I've mentioned before, no one's place on A-troupe is safe. One foot of line, you can say goodbye to A-troupe. Actually, don't even bother. You wouldn't have the chance to," and the room remained silent.
This is why I enjoy using scare tactics. It's a good way to teach people not to do the wrong thing. Like I said, I won't hesitate to kick out another dancer.
"Dancers, run through our dance once, and then Amy, you can join in on the second run through."
"Thanks Emily!" and she took a seat beside me.
When I watched Piper and Amy do their duet with my choreography, Amy really stood out to me. I clearly underestimated her back in auditions. She may not be as technical as Piper, but she definitely is acrobatic. I don't regret choosing Amy to take Piper's spot. I know that she'll take my rehearsals seriously. Within a week, she will look like she's been in my troupe since the beginning.
Time to get started.
