Ok honestly I'm in love with this painting so much. Lemme just tell you that I started this thing like 6 days ago, got really frustrated so left it and then I finished it today.

Hey I got a motivational speech for you guys
Ok so you are gonna fail.
Like, a lot.
In my case it's with painting.
I really wanted to paint with acrylics because I saw so many cool artists do it. Sooo, I did it

So this is a painting of one of the shots in the music video Starlight in Muse cause I love that song

So this is a painting of one of the shots in the music video Starlight in Muse cause I love that song. It's a small metal box if you couldn't tell.
So let's see inside to my first time painting a portrait with acrylics :)

So I drew Matt Bellamy from Muse in the video of Panic Station in August 2019 (omg legit an awesome song check it out, the vid is so cheesy and cringe I love it ) so you can see that this was probably pretty easy since I didn't have to paint eyes lol

But then when I painted with acrylics again, it uh sort of flopped. And when I kept trying to paint portraits, they all just looked... bad.
And then fast forward to a year later. I decide to paint George Harrison. And that turned out to be the cover for this book. I honestly thought it was a fluke that it turned out good. Then I painted John Lennon. Also good. Then I painted Pewdiepie, also good. Then Martin from Depeche Mode, Chris and Gordie from Stand by me. It was somehow getting better. And thennnnn I lost it. It just all went to shit (pardon my language lol)
I took a couple of weeks off painting and got back into my groove. Then, I actually started doing well again. My paintings of Dave from Depeche Mode became impressive for me.

So the moral of this is, you will fail, give up, multiple times. Take a break if you're frustrated, it seriously just gives you time to get it together and continue. Whatever it is that you think you suck at, keep on going. Another example is that a couple of months ago I couldn't ride a bike with no hands, now in the span of two days I just sort of tried it and I rode my bike with no hands all the way downhill. It's not just automatic skill, it takes practice, repetition, perseverance. So, ya keep moving forward.

Anyways that was just a little... speech I guess lol. I hope that sort of inspired you?

Stay safe and awesome my cult!
-Kat
