Another day, another night at the bar. I was on my second beer, and didn't want to go much farther than that.

"Hey N/n, you've gotten more confident these past few weeks," Herc said as he nudged me.

I nudged him back. "That's because I hang out with you guys, and you all have no shame!"

"Waitwaitwait, thass not true," Alex slurred. "Laf has shame."

John gave Laf a teasing grin. "Oh yeah, he's gotta look good for the in laws."

John and Alex had gone from teasing me in private to openly suggesting that me and Lafayette should be in a relationship.

I hate them.

"Like you're any better, Alexander. Always working overtime and asking Y/N to get Washington to let you fight," Laf snapped back.

It was my turn to join in with the laughter.

"That's because I'm booooored! It's not my fault Washington wants me to be his secretary," Alex complained, drowning his sadness in alcohol.

Herc pat his back. "That's what you get for being so smart. Responsibility."

I snickered. "Don't worry Herc, you'll get yours soon enough."

He choked. "I'm sorry, what?"

I took a long, slow sip of my beer. "You heard me. Alex isn't the only smart one here, and dad knows it. He talks about you guys all the time."

The four of them shared a look before collectively deciding to give me a heart attack.

"What did he say about me?!" they shouted, all but jumping over the table.

I flinched back. "I'll tell you if you ask me nicely and not like drunk idiots."

John shoved the other three out of the way and gave me puppy eyes. He was surprisingly good at that. "Pleeeeease? We all know I'm your favorite."

"Shut up, Laurens." Laf hit him upside the head and I laughed a bit. He winked at me and I automatically smiled. Laf smiled back, looking proud of himself.

My happiness was replaced by surprise when Alex nearly jumped over the table and grabbed my collar.

"FORGET HIM, WOMAN! WHAT DID THE GENERAL SAY ABOUT MEH?!" he screamed.

"Oi! Back off the Mini Wash!" a voice called from across the bar.

Theodosia.

She walked over and gently pried Alex's hands from my collar and he surprisingly let her. I think it was the shock. He drunkenly fell off the table and landed in a heap on the floor. Herc nudged him with his boot, making sure he was still alive.

Seeing that he was fine, Theodosia draped her arms across my shoulders and rested her chin on my head.

"Uh, who are you?" Laf accused. He was glaring daggers at her for some reason.

John wasn't much better, looking at her with narrowed eyes. Good to know that pushing his boyfriend off tables is off limits.

"Yeah." Herc was trying to point a finger at her, but he was a little off.

"I don't know, but I hate him," Alex groaned from the floor.

Theo gasped dramatically and clutched her chest. "Y/N! You didn't tell them about me? How could you. I thought we were friends."

"Sorry man. I had other things on my mind lately," I said with a glance at Laf. And I meant to introduce her to the guys, just not like this.

She laughed a little. "Oh, I bet you did."
