"Tale as old as time.

The Winter Court is the most formidable of the fae kingdoms. Lilia, princess of the Spring Court, is stolen away as a prisoner for a crime she did not commit.

But Lilia starts to realize that nothing is as it appears, and the curtain hiding a terrible curse placed upon the ice king and his subjects starts to unravel before her eyes.

For Erikur, King of Winter, all hope is lost. For who could ever learn to love a monster?

A thrilling twist on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast.

The princess of spring. A kingdom of ice.

"If someone is brave enough to ask for the truth, be kind enough to tell them.""

Reviewers Notes:

First of all, I love the concept. It's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but there are many twists. There are kingdoms related to the seasons and there's a lot more magic involved than in the original. I also like the part (spoiler!) where the main character, Lilia, stops a war, because wars suck.

The romance isn't cringey like it is in so many stories. The characters are genuinely sweet and so are the scenes. The one thing that annoyed me was that the 'beast' isn't actually beastly or even remotely unattractive, since that's the whole point of Beauty and the Beast; falling in love with someone despite their appearance. But I guess the author makes up for it by making him intimidating and seemingly evil.

It doesn't completely suit my style, but I still enjoyed reading it. It's pretty short, so if you're looking for a light, heartwarming read, the kind that puts a smile on your face and gives you a gooey feeling somewhere in your stomach, yeah, this is the book.

""It's like Bloody Mary...only her name is Clara."

New school, new friends...and a new game not very many are willing to play.

Alex's first week at Ashworth, a boarding school in upstate New York, was something he was slowly getting used to.  A school filled with history that still haunted the place...along with the ghost of a girl murdered there almost a hundred years before.

A game is played by four students the first Friday night of the new school year and this year, Alex was joining in.  Not because anyone was forcing him to, but because he had to see what all the hype was about.  No other students were willing to risk their sanity, but the four who played before swore they'd seen the girl every time.  Too bad Alex believed their minds were only playing tricks on them.
