growing up has been one lesson
after another that
while i am young now
i will not be forever.
growing up has been forgetting
one time
after another
the very same thing
and i fear that every time
i remember it again
i am a little older
than i was
before
i know one day i will look back
and i truly
will not be young anymore
i just hope i see it coming.
(i think i know i won't.)
