"You sure you're ok 'Nia?" My mom asked as I handed her moes bag.

"Yea momma, I just haven't drank any coffee yet."

"Ok, be safe Mariah." She told me. Moe looked at her hearing his name. "Not you moriah, mommy Mariah." She explained to him chuckling.

Should've just said my first name.

"Ok I gotta go ma, I'll be back at 5/6-ish let me know if he talks so I can tell the therapist. Bye baby, mommy loves you." I leaned down kissing his forehead.

"Ok, love you 'Nia."

"Love you too." I turned walking back to my car.

"Good morning Baltimore, the time is currently 6 am and you know what that meanssss, time for Tyrone." The Radio spoke as I put the car in drive and pulled off.

"Fuck I'm tired, shit. I need to stop at Dunkin' Donuts."

My phone buzzed from the dash

I scrolled it off the screen since I had remembered.

I blinked stretching my eyes since they felt heavy

This finna be a long shift.

"Lowell, I need you to be pumping more oxygen into this mans lungs." Dr. Robinson told me as she cut into his spleen.

"Yes, ma'am." I began to pump longer trying to keep the oxygen flow stable.

"Thank you, 9 blade please."

My mind traveled to the men at the basketball court but especially the nice one. He was carrying a gun in a high security area, Man gave no fucks.

"LOWELL!" I heard making me snap back into reality.

"Y-Yes, ma'am?"

"What is with you today? Marcy take over for her, please."

"Ok." Marcy began to walk towards me.

"Wait what?"

"Marcy will be taking over for you, because I am not about to be at blame for this patient dying because you can't concentrate and pump oxygen into his chest! Do you understand that now?" She looked up at me.

My mind was telling me to check and ask her who the fuck she was yelling at but I knew I was in the wrong.

"Yea, here." I told Marcy. "3,2,1." We counted down to make sure he would have steady air flow.

"Go to the chief and tell him, Dr. Robinson is wanting you to go home for the day, hopefully you'll be able to concentrate tomorrow, have a nice day."

I blinked four times before walking to the hazard bin throwing away my gloves and face mask before walking out.

"What the fuck Zinnia." I mumbled to myself as I walked to the elevator to go to the cheifs office.

"EXCUSE ME, WE NEED A CLEAR HALLWAY!" I heard making me move to the side before I got ran over and sure enough the bed flew past me.

"Hey, Zinnia." I looked to the side of me seeing one of my favorite coworkers—Aaliyah. We had been cool since nursing school.

"Hey." I smiled small.
