【A L V I N】

Time flew by quite fast and before we knew it, it was already midnight. As a result of it being so dark outside, Delilah came to the conclusion that she could not 'for the life in her' walk back home - and I suggested that there was no harm in staying over. Of course they didn't even bother to say something like 'we don't want to be a burden', and agreed right off the bat.

And yet again, Antonio and Rowan had claimed the bed in my room and Margot and Delilah had claimed the one in the guest room. Thus, there was only one option left for Lucien and I - the couch.

Of course I could have just dropped him off at his place, because our homes were literally right next to each other - but I was generous enough to let him stay, that and I needed someone to protect me from the roaches in my living room. He did try to refuse and say that he felt like he would be troubling me in some way, and after a decent amount of persuasion, he agreed to stay.

However, when we got to the living room, I realized just how small and cramped even the biggest couch in the room was - and there was no way in hell I'd be willing to fuck up both mine and his sleep schedule by sleeping in that.

"I don't think this is going to work out," I huffed. "The couch is too small, there's no space at all. I can just take the floor."

"Why? It's literally a pull-out couch," he informed before getting on his knees in front of the couch and pulling on a handle that resembled a recliner in a way - and then the sofa literally transformed into a bed. Well, not exactly - but you get what I mean.

"Wait, it can do that?" I questioned, dumbfounded.

"Alvin, don't tell me you didn't know," he responded, looking over at me in disbelief. "Holy hell, how long have you had this thing?"

"For as long as I can remember. I got it right after I moved in," I confessed.

"Three whole years and you never knew it could do this?" he inquired, shaking his head at me in disappointment. "How does that happen?"

"It happens when you're as stupid as I am," I declared proudly to which he simply rolled his eyes with an amused grin on his face before climbing onto the sofa-bed whatever you want to call it, and laying down with his hands behind his head. As he stared up at the ceiling in silence, I hopped in right next to him and draped the thin blanket over the both of us.

"This blanket is huge," he commented. "Don't your legs get all tangled up in them?"

"That's such a random question, but, they do actually, and I always end up doing the kangaroo kick thing to make it right," I confessed, staring up at the ceiling as well before an idea struck my mind.

"Hey, you wanna see something cool?" I questioned, already excited.

"Of course, who wouldn't?" he snorted, looking over at me curiously for just a brief moment before averting his gaze back up to the blank and empty ceiling.

With that, I hopped off the couch and wandered into the corner of the room by feeling my way around before grabbing the projector night light from the desk and making my way back to the couch. I laid back down and placed it on the floor at the foot of the sofa and switched it on.

The light was a mix of purple and blue, and it was safe to say that it quite stunningly resembled the galaxy with the shapes of stars now crowding the walls. And to top it all off, the outline of a beautiful crescent moon sat on the middle of the ceiling. It was ethereal, to say the least.

"Holy shit, that's beautiful," he commented before pointing at a random star on the ceiling. "That star looks a little bit like a shooting star."

"I think it might be, I wouldn't know, my vision is shitty," I confessed before locating a random star and pointing at it, "And that one looks like a semibreve."

"Creative, I like it," he chuckled before pointing at another one. "That one looks oddly like a fingernail clipping."

"That's supposed to be the moon, dumbass," I said with a chuckle before pointing at another one in the corner. "That one looks like a cockroach - holy shit, I didn't know the stars could move as well. I really haven't used my night light in quite a while."

"Where? I can't quite see it," he said, leaning closer to figure out where I was pointing.

"Right there, see?" I instructed.

"The one in the far corner?" he questioned, pointing at the exact same spot where I had been pointing. "What did you say it looks like?"

"A cockroach," I repeated.

He paused for a second.

Then another second.

Then one more second.

Then a whole ass minute.

"Alvin?" he began in a quiet tone.

"Yeah?"

"Don't freak out," he started. "But I think that is a roach."
