you walked silently as your earbuds blasted whatever was on, you scrolled through your phone but nothing really caught your eye, so you eventually slipped it back into the pocket of your blazer. you failed to noticed an extremely energetic brunette practically throwing himself towards you as you kept walking,

"y/n!" as he finally caught up to you, you jumped as he tackled you from behind into a hug before pulling back, "holy shit-" he laughed a little as you took the earbuds out, "did i scare you?" you glared as you set them in your bag, "yes you idiot. i didnt hear you coming." he smiled as he grabbed your hand, "i have a surprise." you raised your eyebrows as you looked at him, "oh? what is it this time-" he gave no response as he pulled you along down a familiar path,

"ya know- your house isnt really a surprise. its more of a let down-" he shot you a look as you playfully rolled your eyes, "sorry, sorry. im sure you have a whole thing planned out!" his smile returned as he fiddled with the keys to unlock the front door, you sighed before muttering under your breath, "dork." he turned back to glare at you for a second as he opened the door. you slipped off your shoes as you stepped inside and followed him up to his room, "wow. this must be special. you cleaned." he laughed a little as you took a seat next to him,

"you know, ive noticed something," he didnt look up as he started pulling out his laptop,

"and what is that?"

"we've never gone out on any real 'dates' we just sit at each others houses." he laughed a little as he nodded,

"i mean im okay with it. i just enjoy your company-" you smiled as you leaned over to look at his laptop, "same here."

you spent a few hours just looking through the internet together, watching stupid videos or looking at pictures of argentina. as night fell he led you outside to the familiar back porch,

"hey, remember when we almost kissed here?" your eyes widened as you looked at him, he wasnt paying attention, you were sure his head was wrapped up in the stars above him. you just smiled as you stared, "yeah. you were a real flirt. still are." he laughed, you really liked his laugh. "you know, your laugh is probably my favorite thing about you-"

"oh? is l/n, y/n being nice to me? im shocked. pleasantly surprised really." you laughed a little before looking at the sky as well, "im being serious." he sighed, "i know, i know." the comfortable silence you two have always been able to manage fell over you. it felt really relaxing to just be in each others comfort.

"you know, i have to help kaede leave tomorrow." his previously pleasant expression changed to a rather saddened one as he looked at you,

"im driving her to the airport. shes been packed for a few days now. and if shes leaving now- then, that means youre leaving soon-" you didnt pay attention to the tears going down your face, you just looked at him again, 

"you know, i learned a new word recently-"

he laughed a little, your favorite thing,

"metanoia."

"hmm? whats that?"

"a complete and utter change of heart."

he smiled before pulling you into him, "i think that describes you pretty well huh?" you laughed before wiping away a few tears, "yeah, hah, im sorry for being such a baby-" he just responded with holding you a little closer, "im sure im gonna fall apart when i have to say goodbye"

in conclusion, you learned that you are an absolute simp for this man. you became the very thing you hated. oh well. its oikawa.
