as the credits of the movie rolled you sat up to stretch, while you were doing this you heard faint sniffles from behind you, "oh my god tooru are you crying?" his eyes widened before he wiped his face, "no. why would i be crying?" you laughed as you moved his hands from his face, his cheeks were flushed red as you tried to keep yourself from laughing, "come onnnn y/n-channnn," a chuckle escaped as you looked him in the eyes, "no, no, no, i didnt say it was a bad thing you were crying. its cute~" he rolled his eyes as he sat up, "in my defense, the romance in that movie was beautifully played out!" "sure, sure." you were still laughing slightly as he pulled you back into him,

"so. graduation next week." you raised your head to look at him as you shot him a glare, "do not. you are not going to make me cry. no sir. not today." he cracked a smile as you kept your glare, "i never intend to make you cry!"

"i never intended to date you either. but im sitting here. in this 'entanglement.'"

he scoffed before responding, "oh please, you loved me from the start!"

"did i? i remember calling you a 'dumb fuck' and telling you to go to hell-"

"ya still hung out with me every time i asked though~"

"i- whatever."

he laughed a little as you gave up trying to win the petty dispute.

after graduation

with a sigh you stared down at the diploma in hand, you were standing in a circle of girls in your homeroom. you werent really paying attention as they spoke about whatever, you just kept staring at the rolled up piece of paper,

"right l/n-san?"

"l/n-san?

your head shot up as you looked around at the girls, "sorry what was that? i was spaced out." they laughed a little as you straightened your posture, "it must be nice dating oikawa-san huh?" you narrowed your eyes and gave them a questioningly looked as you nodded, "yup. hes a sweetheart." boredom and sarcasm were prominent in your tone as the girls just stared at you, to be honest you didnt talk about your relationship much. oikawa, however, loved to be as obnoxious as he could about it, walking you to every class, personally hunting you down for lunch, ect.

"thats it? c'mon tell us! whats he like?"

you werent sure exactly what to say. did they want to know if its annoying to get in the car with him and have him start demanding you play 'starships' by nicki minaj? cause yes. it is. "uh, well, hes uh, tooru, so hes, ya know. yeah."  they all gave you disappointed looks as you sat there awkwardly, 

"y/n-channnnnn, c'mon-" you had never been happier to hear that voice, you looked up to see the brunette standing in the doorway looking rather impatient, "ah, excuse me-" you practically ran towards the boy as he gave a quick smile and wave to the girls that were staring at him,

"i have never been happier seeing your dumb face-" he laughed as he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the front of the school, "oh come on, they seemed like nice girls!" you rolled your eyes as you tried to keep up with his long strides, "all they wanted to talk about was you-" he laughed as he looked back and shot you a wink, "sounds pretty nice to me~" you groaned as you continued being pulled by the boy.

the courtyard of the school was filled with third years chatting with each other, you were still being led by oikawa as he pulled you towards his friends, "y/nnnnn, hows it feel to be a highschool graduate?" you sighed as you looked at makki, "it sucks ass."

"hey l/n, you figure out a college yet?" oikawa gave you a look as you laughed nervously, "uhm- i-i guess?" oikawa looked concerned as he grabbed you by the shoulders, "what do you mean 'you guess'" you shook his shoulders off you as you responded, 

"i mean- yes, i got accepted into one, i have no clue what im doing though." oikawa gave an exhausted sigh as he looked at the other three, "what about you guys?"

"college for sports science. ill be going to california later too if all goes to plan." -iwaizumi

"i dunno. to be honest- ill figure it out later." -mattsun

"i-, shit man i dunno either-" -makki

oikawa huffed as he looked between the four of you, "so youre telling me, that between the five of us, two have an actual plan for our futures?" the three of you just nodded while iwaizumi shook his head,

"hey i mean- im going to college, im sure ill get a job somewhere- hopefully. maybe." oikawa shot you a glare, "the bar is on the floor."

makki rolled his eyes, "uhm- plenty of people get by without college sir-" you and mattsun nodded in agreement on this as well. oikawa just rolled his eyes in response, "c'mon, y/n, we have to go somewhere real quick." you looked at the others with a confused look but they just shrugged in return, you quickly turned back to catch up with the setter,

"why are we-" he cut you off as he stood in front of what was your locker, "do you remember how we 'officially' met?" you thought for a minute before responding, "we were first years right? a group project or something?" he nodded his head as he looked at you, "i liked you back then to be honest-" you eyes widened as you interrupted him, "im sorry, repeat that-" he laughed as you just stared at him, "yup, and i kept having a crush on you for two more years. when i noticed you drop your earbuds by your locker- i took it as an opportunity- and when we got paired for that project, i told myself that id make it work. thats why i confessed to you early. i had waited two years."

you kept the same wide eyed look as you spoke, "oh my god- it makes so much sense now-" he laughed again, "which is why i wanted to give you-" he rummaged around in his pocket for a minute before continuing, "this" it was a box with a small pink tab sticking out, as you went to open he stopped you by placing his hands over yours, "wait till im gone okay?" you rolled your eyes as you placed the box in your pocket, "alright, alright- but we should probably get going," he nodded as you started walking towards the doors, "one more thing," you turned to face him and as you did you were caught in a kiss,

"i really am one-hundred percent in love with you."
