here i thought id share some fun facts about metanoia and how it came to be!

1. this was my second attempt at writing a fanfic, so i hope it wasnt too terrible!

2. the word 'metanoia' means to have a change of heart through spiritual conversion or penitence, which means to feel sorry or upset for something.

y/n was in love with oikawa before she even knew it, but what made her realize it was the times she saw oikawa at his lowest, the times she was able to see him let out his emotions. she loved his pros AND his cons.

she also wasnt the biggest oikawa fan in the beginning, but the first time she saw him let his guard down in front of her changed that.

i wanted this story to be about y/n's change of heart, her personal 'metanoia' that came with falling in love with a boy who would only leave her in the end,

she never fell in love with anyone else in the way she fell in love with oikawa.

3. i thought of the ending of this book before i ever thought of the beginning.

 i had always planned for oikawa to leave and for their relationship to end, and i had always planned for them to find each other as well, i wanted them to be what we consider to be modern day 'soulmates'

4. the reason why oikawa was upset about losing to shiratorizawa in front of y/n

he was upset because he wanted to show her that he could beat them. we all know shiratorizawa and ushijima are oikawas biggest rival in high school, 

he had also made the comment previously about her being there to see him 'secure his ticket to nationals'

although to her this was nothing more than harmless flirting, he meant it,

even though this was not his last chance at nationals, he felt as though he had disappointed her, 

more than anything he was angry at himself and took it out on the wrong person

5. i wanted to make a story where even the littlest details mattered, for example

the leo constellation, the little pink notes, the coffee shop,

all of those little things meant so much more to the characters

6. even kaedes name was thought out,

kaede means 'maple leaf'

maple trees are generally the trees that turn red and yellow in the fall,

i wanted kaede to be reminiscent of that, she was a warm and welcoming character, to me she reminded me of the fall.

in the epilogue i included her because i didnt want her part of the story to be over looked, she was the one who pushed for y/n to do all the great things in life,

in the end she was able to pursue her own dreams as well and make them into reality

on the day of the japan vs. argentina game she is at her own show, getting ready to perform,

even though none of her friends are watching her,

 she doesnt mind,

she knows its her moment to showcase her own talents

i hope you enjoyed metanoia as much as i enjoyed writing it <3
