Her shoes kissing the pavement emitting a clicking sound that reverberates through the dark halls of the building with tall stained-glass windows illustrates different, intricate, and beautiful designs with the colors of the glass were well chosen to match together to be able to create such a beautiful masterpiece. It never failed to amaze her to admire its beauty, even just for a short period of time as she ambulated through the halls. The moonlight shines through the glass and shines on the dark empty halls and illuminates a portion of light through the halls as (Y/n) heads towards the top of the building where the boss's office is. The halls were empty. Assuming that most of her subordinates went on a mission, went to sleep, or took a day off.
After all, she was summoned near midnight.
She stood in front of the elevator, simply waiting for it to open after pressing the button that would lead her to his office.
After a few minutes, the elevator doors opened, revealing Ozaki Kouyou, one of the executives of the mafia and whom she respected. Kouyou is a tall and slim woman with cherry eyes and light scarlet hair put into a traditional Japanese bun held in place by three long golden pins and another hair clip on the right side of her head made out of a light pink fuzzy hair clip and a red ribbon forming a five-petal flower.
She wears a light pink kimono with bell-flower designs that is overlaid with dark purple and tied neatly with a maroon bow with white borders, as well as a light pink mantle that darkens in color from her elbow to her feet. She's wearing bright pink lipstick and crimson eyeshadow, beautifully painted on her face. Her traditional Japanese kimono features spider lily motifs. She displays an elegant and calm demeanor. Her elegance also displayed her beauty and also a powerful ability user. Her position and potential speak for themselves.
She maintained a calm demeanor as both of them made eye contact. Kouyou held a pleasing gaze on the girl, making the girl draw a timid smile in return.
"Hello dear (Y/n), I'm pleased to see you." Kouyou gave her greetings as the young girl made her way into the elevator, pressing the round button that leads to the top floor of the main building. Kouyou took notice of this, on where her fingers landed before the doors of the elevator shut. The ride was engulfed in silence. (Y/n) and Kouyou didn't utter a word, but after a few minutes, Kouyou decided to speak.
"I see you're heading to Ougai-dono. An urgent summon, I suppose?" she asked, which is quite an obvious question. Though it was her attempt in breaking the ice between the cold silence of the small ride.
(Y/n) gave her attention to the executive, who gave her a simple nod and said, "Yes, Kouyou-san. The summon was quite abrupt. I deem that it is something important."
The woman hummed in return as the elevator stopped and opened, revealing the floor where Kouyou and (Y/n) would now depart. Their conversation was indeed short, but (Y/n) was grateful to have a small chat with her since it had been quite a while since they had crossed paths due to their different schedules, as the executive had a lot more work than the young girl.
Kouyou took her leave as she walked elegantly as the girl looked at her, slowly going further as the elevator doors did their thing and shut, taking her to the highest floor as soon as possible.
As she reached the top of the headquarters, a cool breeze greeted her when the elevator opened due to the air conditioner, revealing a narrow pathway mostly filled with black as the light from the fluorescent lamps didn't emit much more light than expected.
As (Y/n) reached the doors, two guards noticed her presence as she stated her name and business. The guards permitted her to enter the boss's office.
When she opened the door, she slightly expected to see the boss sitting at his chair either doing paperwork or simply putting his head in his hands on the table as his elbow gave support to the weight.
