"Are you sure you want your honeymoon in... Arkham City?" Oliver asks Felicity over the phone, mid-conversation. It's the following morning, and he hasn't bothered to check, even peak, at Barry's text messages that hadn't even delivered to him up until five minutes ago. He's pretty much shut everyone else in the world out, besides his best friend.
Which sucks, mainly because he's ran out from a coma and his sister isn't a portion of that exception as of yet.
And partly because, well, the person he wants to speak to most in this world, or any world, as the case has altered to be, he's also ignoring the most.
I should visit Thea before I get on that train tonight, Oliver thinks as he waits for Felicity's answer. He wants to theorize he'll never return to Central City, he even tries, but in order to maintain a relationship with Thea, Felicity, and Laurel, it's the inevitable. And despite his date tonight with one of his college almost-lovers, he knows that's not the man who he'd be willing to stay forever in the city of sunshine and rainbows for, or the man defined of such.
He knows. But again, he chooses to ignore it anyway. The only thing that hasn't changed the past half-year are his feelings. And really, he's sure they never will. Maybe fade, possibly, and hide underneath his cold, little-but-in-actuality-really-big heart, but never, ever leave.
With a guess coated with hope, Oliver thought... maybe Elseworlds would reverse those changes; Barry from being the man he fell so fast in love for to being the man who broke his heart back to the man he fell so fast in love for, but also with him, measured by reality, not fantasy. Maybe.
But if Barry doesn't remember, if Barry chose Adrian, then it must be no.
And he realizes. He realizes Barry thinks he doesn't remember him, and is waiting to know if he's chosen Adrian over him.
And Adrian... chose him over Bea and Barry.
"She's my sister, Oliver. I just got her back," Felicity reasons. "And you don't... have to fund it."
"Felicity-"
"No, really. Smoak Tech is doing great. Laurel and I are great." Softening her voice, she adds, "And I want things to be great with Beatrice."
Beatrice? Long for Bea. That's new.
"We're moving there. Effective immediately."
After a brief pause, Oliver quips, "So still a 'no' on moving back to Starling?" He laughs to Felicity's laugh. "Hey, uh, can I... talk to her for a second, maybe?"
Her as in the one and only Bea...trice.
"You know I would say 'yes', um," Felicity exhales, "but she boarded her train an hour ago. We're leaving New Years Day."
That revelation saddens Oliver. Not just Felicity and Laurel living even farther away from their home city, but that Bea's already gone, and she didn't say goodbye.
But honestly, it's better that way. He hates goodbyes.
"Just... let her know that if she needs any help escaping a fake-world again, I'll be the real-person to help her out," Oliver prompts to her.
"Of course. What do you got for this Smoak?"
"Oh, you'll have to wait until New Years Eve."
"As long as you buy the drinks. That I'll let you fund."
He hears Laurel grab the phone to add, "And Barry as your date!"
"Laurel!" Felicity chuckles.
