Chapter 20: DOUXIE!

"Please be careful Douxie."

"Always am Mailin. I love you."

"I love you too." I smile at him, and we take off.

Mailins PoV:
Toby and Steve scream as Jim stands in front of us.

"Oh, fuzz buckets." I groan.

Jim roars and destroys the ships engine.

We're free falling but before we crash Claire opens a portal and makes us crash land a bit softer.

We groan as we get up.

I turn and my eyes widen when see my aunt and the green knight fighting.

I run to the others who're trying to deal with Jim.

He throws us away and we watch as Claire approaches him.

"Nari!" I sigh relieved as Archie drops her in front of us.

She runs to us, and I immediately engulf her in a hug. "Where's Douxie?" I ask her worriedly after we part.

Nari looks at me sadly "he's still up there."

I feel myself tear up and turn to look up the skull "No... Douxie!"

Then I hear a crash and see aunt Morgana and father get crushed and killed by what's left of Camelot.

"No! Father! Aunt Morgana!" I scream as tears roll down my cheeks. Nari hugs me as I sob.

"I'm sorry Mailin."

When I hear everybody yell, I look up and see Jim turn to stone.

"Oh no! Jim..."

Claire cries as she hugs him. Suddenly the stone breaks and from it rises... human Jim!

Claire runs at him, and they hug.

I smile at them.

Then there's a thunder like sound from above and I look up to see the skull building exploding.

I gasp and my eyes widen in shock as I see Douxie fall through the sky.

"No... no! NO!" I scream, my vision getting blurry with how many tears are rolling down my cheeks. I run as fast as I can, but I don't reach him in time. He crashes to the ground, and I scream as I feel my heart break.

"DOUXIE!!!! NO!" I sob as I kneel next to him. My breath is fast as I panic when I don't feel a pulse. Sobs break past my quivering lips. I lean over him and lay my head on his chest. "No... Douxie... please... no..."

Douxies PoV:
I groan as I open my eyes. Bright light blinds me but as my eyes adjust, I realize that I'm in Merlin's room.

I sit up and feel my body. "Wha...?"

I sigh and lay back down "Mordrax's miracles! If this is the afterlife, I must surely be in-"

„Hello there, boy."

„What?" my eyes widen, and I sit up to see Merlin standing there, reading a book. „Master! You're- you're not dead!"

Merlin laughs „Magic may be mastery over life, but I am most certainly deceased. You saw me vaporize into soot. The question really is... why are you here?" Merlin asks and looks at me.

I walk towards the window but only see bright light.

„I see you translated my grimoire."

„You wrote it in draconic!" I say angrily.
