♤Cassian♤

I think I'm losing my mind
Trying to stay inside the lines
It's like you're running in place
How you keep staying the same

As soon as I reached the house, I had known something was wrong.

I could feel it in my bones.

Perhaps it was the awful silence and foreboding dark senseless rooms.

Maybe it was the subtle creaks thanks to the old staircases.

Or perhaps it is the gang of masked wolves that greets me in my room.

The leader- the Alpha, I believe it's safe to assume- rewards my entrance with a mock bow.

"Cassian."

I raise a lazy brow. "That's Prince Cassian to you."

One of the gang members growls at me.

I ignore the youth and address his leader.

"I would suggest you control your pack before I do it for you."

The Alpha doesn't respond, daring to keep eye contact with me.

"I don't take a challenge lightly, you know. Although it has been some time since someone was a worthy competition."

I relax in the door, smirking at the uneasiness layering the room.

^Cassian! Dude, we need your help!^

I tear my gaze away from the Alpha, showing that I'm not afraid as I respond to Eric.

^An attack? Where are you? Who is it? Are there any casualties?^

^Yes. A mysterious girl has turned up. She's battling three wolves, holding her ground, but is seriously injured. What should we do?^

"Surrender yourself now and you shall die a painless death."

^Keep yourself safe and aid her when you can.^

^Okay.^

I shrug, unimpressed at the Alpha. "Why should I surrender?"

The Alpha grins. "No? You won't surrender? I was hoping so."

And the Alpha shortly shifts, his mask sliding off his newfound snout.

I shrug, removing myself from the door, and shift into my wolf form.

I let out a howl, and watch unimpressed as the Alpha races at me.

He aims for my neck, trying to find a hold for his teeth to sink into.

I'm offended he would think it would be that easy.

I bat him away from my body by sidestepping and attacking his shoulder.

He backs away, and I growl, beginning to circle him.

His cronies, I notice, have all dispersed into the outer hallways.

《Cowards.》 Darryl sneers.

My ears pin back, my hackles rising.

I spring forward and leap upon him, pushing him into my bedside table, the clock hitting the ground with a bang.

I scratch the length of his back, causing him to rear up and attack me.

He pulls at my hair, I take a bite at his leg.

He yelps, and pushes me back.

Books tumble off my bookshelf as I am thrown against it.

My legs wobble slightly as I get up. I growl.

This has gone on for too long.

I charge towards him, tackling him, and rolling on top.

Suddenly he shifts, naked in all his glory.

I force myself not to pull away.

I growl.

"You can't kill me." He sneers.

I shift back. Unafraid.

"And why's that?"

"Because if you do, you'll find your mate dead."

"Oh, yeah?"

I stare at him as he calmly reaches up and unlatches the window.

A strong gust breezes in and I freeze as I take a whiff.

《It's her. It's our mate. She's here.》
