3rd Person POV
Dee and Anx eventually met up with the others after finishing their ice cream and discovered that Roman had also been sent to the opposite dimension. The rain deterred Roman however, and the rest decided to just continue the following day. Considering that the majority of Logan and Remy's theories of returning involved the moon not being covered by rain clouds.
That night, the two just sat in Virgil's room and talked before going to bed. You could say the two of them were having a good time, sharing funny stories and whatnot. Until Dee's thoughts brought out his silence.
"Uh, Dee?"
"Anx, do you like this world better than ours?" Dee asked softly.
Anx drew back in surprise at the question. "Ah.. I-" He was confused and honestly shocked that he didn't really know the answer. "Umm.." Eventually, he sighed, giving up, "I don't know.."
"Oh." Dee's face remained unchanging, "Well that's okay."
"...Do you prefer Virgil over me?" Anx questioned.
"Huh?!" His eyes widened. Where did that come from? Dee wasn't expecting a question like that. Sure, you could say it has some similarity to his, but this is a whole other subject here. To be honest, he wasn't even sure he heard him right. "What?" His eyes shot over to where Anx was sitting. He saw Anx looking away at the window, clearly expecting a certain answer.
Anx repeated himself but softer this time, "Do you prefer Virgil over me?"
"Oh.." Dee sighed, hating the fact that Anx felt like this was a question he needed to ask. Although, all that time spent with Virgil, thinking he was Anx, it would be reasonable for anyone to think that. After all, Dee had been around Virgil for three months now, and had only really spent one real day with Anx. Well from Anx's point of view anyway.. As much as it pains him to see someone he has feelings for compare themselves to someone else, he knows the answer. "No."
This time, Anx's eyes widened, but he kept his eyes trained on the window. "A-are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Bu-"
"I'm sure."
"Uh, okay." Anx couldn't help but smile a little at the fluttering feeling in his chest. "I think, I think I'm gonna go to sleep now."
"Oh, okay. Me too."
"Could you get the lamp?" Anx requested.
"Oh yeah." He stood up and switched off the desk lamp, leaving the room to be mildly lit by the fairy lights. Dee settled comfortably back into the bean bag chair and turned on his side so he was facing the wall. Anx leaned back in the bed and pulled himself under the covers, he also turned on his side.
About ten minutes went by and Anx couldn't help but notice the chill in the air as he stared at Dee laying on the bean bag chair without a blanket. He went over it back and forth in his head, wondering if it was a good idea, or if it would make the other uncomfortable. He was getting ready to give up on the idea when a part of himself he didn't know he had chimed in. Saying it'll be okay, that he won't mind or think you're weird for asking. So he went for it.
"Dee..?" He muttered, "Dee are you still awake?"
"Yes." Dee responded almost instantly.
"It's kinda cold isn't it?"
"Yeah.. a bit."
"Y-you can.. Sleep up here if you want to."
"I-I don't want to impose or anything.."
