(Bucky Barnes) Metal Detectors and Kisses

The lipstick left behind a deep red trail as you traced your lips with it; slowly, in order to have perfect control of its movements. It was a new color, one you bought the last time you went shopping with Nat, and you were eager to see Bucky's reaction.

You puckered your lips, admiring the color in the mirror when a loud alarm started blaring on your floor and despite being an Avenger, you nearly jumped ten feet in the air.

Darn.

Grabbing your gun from your bedside drawer, you tiptoed to your door and pressed yourself to the wall.

One, two, three, four, one two three four, come on! One, two, three, four, go!

And with that you jumped out of the bedroom, aiming your gun at whoever triggered the alarm in the doorway of the living room, adrenaline coursing through your veins. However, you soon lowered it when you recognized the figure.

"Bucky?"

"Hey, doll. I think something broke but I can't find it. God, where is that noise coming from?" He pulled his arm out of the air vents, finding nothing out of the ordinary there.

You tried to stifle your laughter. You really did. But he looked so confused and of course that infernal alarm wouldn't stop blaring because the poor guy was still standing in front of your metal detector.

"I'm glad you're happy, doll, but are you laughing at me? What's so funny?" A playful smile tugged at his lips, despite both of your growing annoyances with the noise.

"Come," you laughed, leading him to the bedroom, and your floor was finally quiet once more.

"It stopped." He pulled such a confused puppy face, you couldn't help but to start laughing again.

"Bucky, that was a metal detector. Oh my god, I can't believe it. The big bad Winter Soldier, stumped by a metal detector."

"A metal detector? Why do you need one? It's a bit more difficult to install one when your boyfriend has a metal arm, doll." He winked, and you jokingly shoved his shoulder.

"Okay, firstly, I forgot about the metal arm. Secondly, remember that Nick guy? The undercover agent for HYDRA? Well, I just didn't want any surprises so if someone sneaks in here with a gun, I'll know." You shrugged. "I'm still not used to it though."

"But doll," he whined, dragging out that nickname you loved so much. "I can keep you safe too. Don't you trust me to keep you safe?"

God. And now the puppy dog eyes.

"Of course I do, baby."

"Then why do you need that dumb machine out in the doorway?" His bright blue eyes blinked up at you as if he were a child and not a century-old man.

"Because, dear Bucky, you can't always be here and I'm sure you'd rather come back to hugs and kisses than a corpse in your bedroom." You ran your fingers through his soft brown locks, a habit more than anything else.

"But when I'm here you don't need it, right? I'm a big strong man, I can protect you. And we could both do without that terrible racket whenever I walk in or out of the living room."

"Okay, okay, I'll remove it while you're here. But when you go on missions I'm putting it back; I do not want to die."

"You promise, doll?"

"Promise," you confirmed.

"Good. I love you, doll. Come here, give me a kiss." He beckoned you with two fingers from where he was lying with his head in your lap, and of course you complied, leaning down and catching his lips with your own, because why would you not?

"Nice lipstick," he mumbled, lips brushing yours when you pulled away just slightly to breathe. "You should wear it more."

You didn't reply, only moving to his cheek and pressing your lips there, leaving behind a bright red lip print.

"Now you can wear it too!" You exclaimed. He only rolled his eyes and grinned, whispering a 'you're adorable' before pulling your lips to his again.

Should I stop crossposting here? I do have to put in time to post here as well and I just wonder if anyone actually reads these?
