I had just finished preparing mashed potatoes for hungry Dream, who had been engrossed in playtime with her toys for a while and now looked tired. I picked her up and sat her on my lap, beginning to feed her immediately. Just then, Mom walked through the front door with groceries in hand, despite my earlier request for her to take Dream to her place so I could pack for our trip to Ghana. Dream and I were set to leave for Ghana that night, and I wanted to ensure that all our necessary belongings were packed. However, with Dream by my side, I couldn't focus on packing.

"Hola mamacita," Mom said with a smile, gently taking Dream off my lap. "Are you done feeding her?" she asked, cradling Dream in her arms.

"Not really, but I think she's full," I replied, heading into the kitchen. I took my time washing the dirty plates before making my way to my room to search for a suitable outfit for Dream. She would need to change into fresh clothes, and I wanted to make sure she looked adorable for our trip.

After selecting a suitable outfit for Dream, I changed her into fresh clothes before packing extra garments and diapers into her bag. I also made sure to include three bottles of pumped breast milk and one container of baby formula, knowing that she would be spending the entire day with her granny and would likely need sustenance throughout the day.

"She's ready now," I said, carrying Dream over to Mom.

"Oh, look who's ready to take on the world," Mom cooed, and I smiled, shaking my head in amusement.

"Let's go, mi amor," I said, escorting them to the car with Dream's bag in hand. I helped Mom secure Dream into her car seat, making sure she was comfortable and safe.

"Enjoy your day with Granny, okay? I love you," I said to Dream, giving her a gentle peck on the forehead.

"See you later, honey. I love you," Mom replied, smiling at me before heading to her side of the car. I watched as they drove away, feeling a mix of relief and love, knowing that Dream was in good hands.

Two hours had passed since Mom left with Dream, and I couldn't help but wish that Dream could stay with her for a week. To be honest, I was exhausted from dealing with Dream's tantrums and energetic outbursts. She was a handful, and her attitude reminded me so much of her grandma Jade - feisty and spirited.

Just as I was looking forward to some peace, I heard from Bella earlier that she'd be arriving in about an hour. I decided to whip up something delicious for her, as she always seemed to arrive with an empty stomach.

As I turned off the stove, the doorbell rang, and I let out an internal groan, expecting it to be Bella. I didn't understand why she insisted on ringing the bell when she could just walk in.

I trudged to the door, muttering under my breath, ready to scold her for the unnecessary formality. But when I opened the door, my words caught in my throat. Standing before me was a person I hadn't expected, and my world came to a standstill. I stood there, numb and speechless, staring at the person in utter disbelief.

"What are you doing here?" I asked finally, breaking the silence after staring at him for what felt like an eternity. He was accompanied by Liam, and I wondered what had brought them to my doorstep.

"Um, I need your help," he said, his words catching me off guard.

"How may I help you?" I replied, curiosity getting the better of me. What could a wealthy individual like him possibly need help with from someone like me?

"Can you at least let me in first?" he asked, his eyes pleading, and I stepped aside to allow him entry. "Can I sit?" he asked, and I nodded.

"Yes sure, you can." He sat down, and I couldn't help but notice the weariness etched on his face.

"He's cute," I said, smiling at Liam, who was quietly observing his surroundings.

"Thanks," he replied, his expression softening slightly. "I know I don't deserve to ask you this, but I'm in a bit of a bind, and I really need your help right now," he explained, pinching the bridge of his nose. It was clear that he was going through a tough time. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and took a deep breath.

"What is it?" I asked, raising my chin slightly, ready to listen.

"I want you to..." he started to say, but before he could finish, Liam began to cry. Without hesitation, I got up and took Liam from his arms, cradling the little one in a gentle motion.

The sudden movement left him in a state of shock, his eyes wide with surprise as he stared at me, seemingly unsure of how to react. I comforted Liam, trying to soothe his cries, while also being aware of the awkward silence that had fallen between us.
