Chapter XXX.

When you finally become who you want to be as a human being, a person. It's one of the most beautiful feelings that you'll ever feel. Finally growing, developing into who you want to be. To Salma it was the most beautiful thing she could ever experience especially when it's for someone she loves so much because all she wants is for the people that care about to grow, flourish and become the person they want to be.

Salma didn't understand the whole process but she educated herself and did a lot of research because she was older and she didn't understand certain things nowadays but was willing to learn. Salma and Augustus spent a lot of time researching, they called different organizations and they took the time to sit with Mickey and explained what was happening with Jesse.

It took a lot of dolls being discombobulated, a lot of visual representation but at the end they explained it well enough for him to understand. Mickey was honestly amazed, he was genuinely happy because his little brain never thought it was possible to be able to get a sex change. Jesse living with them made Mickey realize a lot of things. Jesse looked feminine to him, but preferred unisex things or masculine things. Jesse was gender fluid and carefree, Mickey aspires to be that way.

Salma smiled at her younger sibling Jesse who was trying on new clothes, trying on a suit at a local clothing shop in the city. Jesse smiled as he looked into the mirror, he smiled and he grinned. "Woah, they are not there anymore. I feel... better." Jesse grinned and Salma smiled as she carefully hugged him from behind. "You look so handsome." Salma commented and Jesse looked at the black suit. "I feel amazing." Jesse gushed and Salma covered her face as she tried her best to not cry for the tenth time today.

For the past week Salma has been crying ever since Jesse's top surgery was done. "Now we are going to take you to a barbershop, you're gonna get your first official haircut." Salma beamed as she wipes the little tear that escaped.

Jesse's hair was always short but was never cut like any haircuts, his hair was somewhat feminine and he always wanted maybe a undercut or a mullet but since the mullet was coming back and his hair was curly, it would look good on him. "I want a mullet." Jesse grinned and Salma clasped her hands together. "Mickey wants one to. You know, like his K-Idols he likes. Augustus didn't know for sure but if Mickey wants his hair like that then I'm all for it." Salma explained and Jesse heart swelled at the thought of Mickey having his haircut just like him. "We can be twins." Jesse says and Salma loved the thought of that.

They leave the boutique and Salma picks Mickey from his play date with Hazel. They headed to a barbershop near Brooklyn. It was black owned shop that was recommended by Shania when Augustus didn't like the shop that he went to before but this was his go to place.

Salma, Jesse and Mickey walked into the shop and it was a very lively shop. Salma looked at Jesse who looked nervous, Salma grabbed Jesse's hand making him look over at his older sister. "It's okay, I'm here." Salma assured Jesse, the younger brother smiled and he grinned. Mickey jumped up and he grabbed Jesse's hand. "Me too." Mickey chimed and Jesse leaned down, he kissed his head and Mick grinned. "Aunt Jesse, oh.. you want Uncle?" Mick asked even though he missed out a few words but Jesse understand what he was asking. Mick always referred Jesse to Aunt Jesse but since Jesse is not a woman, it wouldn't feel right.

Jesse smiled so wide and her eyes watered a little because Mick was so sweet like his parents. "Yes, I would. Call me Uncle Jesse." Jesse grinned and Mick giddily smiled. "Okay." He exhaled nervously, Mick rubbed his hair out his face quickly, his cheeks so red. "Uncle Jess, I-I'm getting... like Felix." Mick grinned as he motioned to his hair and Jesse looked at Salma because he had no idea who Felix was. Salma shakes her head with a chuckle. "Felix is his favorite member of Stray Kids. His hair is cut in a mullet." Salma explained and Jesse hummed in response.
