People don't recognize Nick Fury's honesty, his kindness, even his nurturing nature, enough.
I mean, his whole relationship with Nat; the devoted confidence he inspires in people speak for themselves- He knows people intimately: who they are, what their morals and skills are- and he respects and works within those guidelines. He's a great leader.
But even like... in the end of CATFA- presumably HE was the one who went through the trouble of recreating a 1940s style room just so that Steve wouldn't be distressed when he woke up?
Also presumably he was always gonna be the one to break the news to him. And when he does, he asks "Are you gonna be okay?"
People just roll over all that and make him this insensitive one-note badass, and he IS badass, but-
