Astrid's POV

I had arrived to my room and tried not to cry. It wasn't fair. Why did my father have to treat me like this? I paced around the room, fanning my hands near my eyes in attempt to keep the tears at bay, but it wasn't working. My tears flowed down my face silently like a trickling stream running down a hill.

I heard my sisters high heels clicking against the wooded floor, obviously coming to check if I was ok. Once she had stopped at the door, I could hear her huffing and puffing, trying to catch her breath. Maybe I should stop storming off, I thought.

Rapunzel didn't open the door immediately after her breathing was back to normal. She was probably trying to listen to what I was doing on the other side if the door. Trying to hear if I was smashing anything I could grasp against the wall. Once she was confident her face was not going to be greeted by a chair, she entered the room. At first she looked surprised because nothing was broken, but her face collapsed like a straw house blown down in a storm once we made eye contact.

"Come here Asty" she said soothingly.

I ran over to here and broke down in her arms. I couldnt hold it back anymore. I let my sobs take over me as she rubbed my back slowly, whispering soothing sentences in my ears.

"Its ok" she uttered, "It'll be ok".

"No it won't" I cried, "I'm going to be sent away to Berk!".

I paused for a second before I whispered, "I'm scared Rapunzel".

"You should be scared" a different voice spoke. This wasn't the calming voice of my sister, but the strict voice of our governess Lady Buckby, "You look terrible with those ugly tears running down your face for no reason. The prince will take one look at you and run away, never to be seen again! Your mother would be tossing in her grave if she caught a glimpse of you."

I gave her a ferocious glare. She didn't seemed to bothered by it because she was probably used to it, but I could see the terror in the maids faces who were standing behind her.

"Do not bring my mother into this you old cow" I hissed.

The maids gasped. What I had just said would be classed as a very disrespectful insult. Rapunzel tugged my hair slightly. I took this as a sign to hold my tongue.

"Lady Astrid! What you have just said to me is very disrespectful! I have taught you better! If you were still a child I would of beaten you!"

"Do not threaten me Lady Buckby", I warned, "Otherwise I shall tell your husband that you have been eyeing up the gardener!"

Hiccup's POV

"I want everything to be perfect for my fiancé's arrival!" I ordered.

The maids had been instructed to prepare Princess Astrid's bed chambers for when she finally arrived and I wanted to make sure the job was done immaculately.

I beckoned one of the maids over, "Please inform the gardener I want a bouquet of lilies in two weeks time, I want to put them in a vase on the window sill". I said. The maid nodded and scurried of to find the gardener.

I had remembered about the lilies that she held in her delicate little hands. Thinking about her, I wanted to see her beautiful face, so I glanced over to the portrait. I smiled softly as I got lost into her azure eyes. My gazing was interrupted by a maid asking what colour I wanted the duvet covers.

"I want them to be white. White as a crystal without a crease insight ok?" He instructed. I then remembered something.

Her azure eyes...

"And I want azure fabrics draped around the bed frame as well as a blanket made out of the same azurs material that will be laid at the end of the bed incase the princess feels chilly in the night".

The maid gave a me a quizzical look.

"Do you know what colour azure is?" I asked irritably.

"No your highness" She admitted timidly.

I sighed, "It's blue. when you get to the fabric shop, ask for azure material and they will give it to you".

"Yes your highness, I will arrange it immediately". She confirmed and then scurried away.

Once she left I looked around the room and smiled. Everything is going to plan perfectly.

Sorry for the wait! I really need to set up a schedule.

So what do you think about Hiccups excitement for Astrid's arrival? Do you like it? Or do you think it would of been better if he was miserable about the engagement as well?

A vote and comment would be greatly appreciated!
