Chapter 13- Friends

Days passed. Atlast the day came when Jisoo's father and mother went to buy an engagement ring for Jin. In these few days if something changed, is that Jisoo and Taehyung became best of buddies. Taehyung hoped maybe things or rather feelings are changing for Jisoo. So he tried harder.

Last Sunday Taehyung brought Jisoo's family out for movies and later a family dinner. There they enjoyed a lot. Jisoo's father is having second doubts now seeing how Taehyung can make his daughter happy in a blink of an eye. Jisoo's mother internally cursed Ji-hoon for making such a big mistake. She made many efforts to let him see that with whom Jisoo is lot more happier and safer. But he refused to believe the truth and stick to his words.

Today, it is the day Jin is coming back from his work place. Their wedding is day after tomorrow. So Jisoo's father thought to buy the ring, today. Jisoo's mother and father are busy in shopping.

In the recent days Blake also became a good friend of Taehyung. When he understood that Jisoo will never be his, even the girl never once gave a glance towards him. He understood that there is no match in him and her so he let her go. He also found Taehyung to be a funny guy. So why not...

Taehyung and Jisoo are home together while Jisoo's parents are out for shopping. Taehyung saw Jisoo came out of her room with her wet hair wrapped in a towel wearing a black top and trousers. She has her back towards him, so she can't see him checking her out.

"How is it?" Jisoo asked without glancing back.

"Huh?" Taehyung became dump found.

"Coffee. I told you it's on the table. Drink it while it's warm."

"Oh ok!"

"Jisoo..." He trailed off when Jisoo's parents returned from their shopping and called her name.

Taehyung and Jisoo both came out and saw Jin's parents are also present over there.

"Jisoo! When we were shopping earlier we met Jin's family. Isn't it great?" Jisoo father said excitement laced in his voice.

"Jisoo, Jin's mother was so eager to see you so we thought to have a brief encounter with our future daughter-in-law." Jin's father said.

"Not a problem uncle. Glad to see you both."

Jin's mother smiled towards Jisoo and hugged her.

"In few days this beautiful girl will be our daughter. Can't wait for the wedding to happen." Jin's mother chirped.

"Yes, Ji-hoon don't worry we will treat your Jisoo as our own daughter. We will try to keep her happy."

"That's all I want. My daughter is a very precious part of my heart. She and her mother are the two main reason of my happiness. If she isn't happy I can never be. But I know you all will keep her contented."

"Ji-hoon, it's our duty to keep your daughter happy. Jisoo deserves every bit of happiness of the world...." Suddenly Jin's mother smiled in the mid of speaking thought that Jin wanted to talk to Jisoo. ".... See. I completely forgot. Jisoo, if you don't mind Jin wanted to talk to you. Will you speak with him, now."

Jisoo looked at her father and saw him nodding giving her the needed permission. Then suddenly she had the urge to look at Taehyung, only to find him looking at something but nothing in particular standing at the corner of the room.

"Sure, why not."

After dialing Jin's number she went outside to talk to him while the others continued to discuss about the wedding, knocking at the door.

"Hey!! If you are having any doubts regarding the size of the ring why don't you try it on your friend, Taehyung." Jin's father suggested.

"No need of that..."

"We will not mind Ji-hoon, afterall he is like our son too." Jin's mother exclaimed.

"Don't you dare do that, Ji-hoon. That would be a very selfish act." Soo-min whispered to her husband.

"Don't worry nothing will happen like that. He is our family after all." Soo-min didn't knew how to react at her husband's stupidity.

"Taehyung."

Taehyung didn't knew what to do and now Ji-hoon want to try the wedding ring on his finger, rubbing salt in the wound. Taehyung was upset but can't show it to the others so he continued the play.

Ji-hoon placed the ring on his ring finger, knowing he is hurting Taehyung's heart. He knows what he is doing is wrong. But he can't let others know anything. The dazzling diamond ring fitted perfectly on his finger. Jin's parents were satisfied knowing the ring is perfect for Jin too.
But Soo-min saw the sad look on Taehyung's eyes, the longings reflected from his eyes told everything. And there Soo-min knew Taehyung loves their daughter. But what they are doing? She was upset that after wanting Taehyung to be her son-in-law from a long time, and when he himself is in love with Jisoo she can't do anything. Knowing Jisoo is the stubborn girl who herself didn't knew how to figure things out, only to respect her father's decision she is doing this sacrifice. She is accepting a loveless life.

Taehyung tried to remove the ring from his finger but seems like that the ring got stuck on his fingers. He gave more force, but the ring denied to come out.

"Don't put too much force, it will hurt you." Jin's father said.

Meanwhile Jisoo came out and saw that Taehyung struggling with the ring. Very obvious that the ring got stuck.

"Taehyung."

Jisoo took a hold of his hand and took him to the kitchen. Curious about them the others also followed. Jisoo dipped Taehyung's ring finger into the running water from the tap. Then took some soap on her hand and rubbed it on Taehyung's finger. The foam caused the ring to slip out of his finger.

"Here, dad take the ring." Jisoo then handed the ring to his dad.

Humiliation, hurt, anger got the best of him. He didn't saw that he was hitting on a stone. Jisoo always had considered him as a friend, nothing more and nothing less. It's his stupidity to think that he had a chance. This is it. He felt lucky that he didn't confessed his love yet. He can't think about the rejection he would have faced if confessed to Jisoo. Tears beaming in his eyes but he blinked hard to get rid of those tears which means nothing to the person for whom he became weak.

"You all have dinner and please excuse me, I am tired and need some sleep." With that he went to his room not giving any chance for anyone's to speak.

"It's all your fault, Ji-hoon." Soo-min glared at Ji-hoon letting him know that she is upset with him...
