He decides to help her, and finds out something surprising along the way.

Yashiro had received her science test results today. A solid C- written in bright red ink was smacked onto the page much to Nene's dismay. Barely a passing grade, and more embarrassingly, the best grade Yashiro had gotten in months.
Amane couldn't help but sigh once he saw a sobbing Nene, clutching a small packet to her chest. It was the same song and dance; she would get a bad grade, she would cry, and he would be the one to comfort her. Despite the fact that Yugi and her were best friends, he couldn't help but feel extreme disappointment in her when it came to her academics.
Both her and him had their strengths. Yashiro was a gifted gardener, chef, and sewer, while he on the other hand was extremely talented when it came to smarts and sports. Both of them were more or less fine in all other areas such as singing, dancing, and drawing. But even with this being the case, both of them seemed desperate to help Nene improve in the academic department.
Because of this, Amane was more than delighted when Nene had begged him to help her improve her grades. After an entire lunch period worth of discussion they planned out when and where they would meet up, which was later that day right after school. Amane's family was already going to visit the Yashiro residence the next day for a cookout so they decided to make it a sleepover, but instead of fun and games it would be a night of studying and quizzing.
They didn't need to worry about Yugi having to pack any bags due to the fact he came over so frequently that he had left enough items there to last himself a week. Besides, even if he did need anything his house was only a few blocks down from Nene's so there was nothing to worry about.
