THE OTHER SIDE

"Useless fellows. Spoiled my day man."
I said while banging the bench with bag.

"Don't they have sense how to talk?" Re
"Leave it Macha. As far as nothing much happened."
"What's there to happen even more??"

"Why did you talked to them like this?"
"Like what? "
"Harshly. They are our seniors."

"Just seniors. Not ours."I gave her 'seriously' look.
"What" Reva exclaimed.
"They are science  students. Our seniors were at that side." I said calmly.

"How did you know?? " She said coming to other side of bench from front.

"I figured out. Out building is straight. But they were at their side. Plus our seniors don't rag. Common sense."

"If I had known this before I would have left that place long ago. "
"You wish."

"How come you found out?"
"I am way smarter than you."
"Keep it with you." Reva smirked.

Soon the class filled and professor came.

In the middle of the lecture I whispered,
"Reva, I have a doubt. "

"You're having a doubt and you are asking me. " She said and turned her head.

"Not that doubt. Idiot. While we were ragged, was that guy drooling at me??"

"Which guy??"
"The centre guy. Checked shirt one."
"I don't know."She said slyly.
"Waste you are."

'Why am I thinking this' I thought to myself.

During recess time," Reva, after college you leave for work. I'll change and go to class."
"Why da? I'll to come with you."
"You'll get late. Is it okay."

"Hehehe. But you wanted to go to Ashram right."
"Yeah. But what to do. Weekend."

As a part time job, I worked at a tuition centre after college. In weekends I took dance class. And tuitions for our Ashram children.
Also I participated in a tv dance programme; bharatanatyam.

Similarly,Reva worked at supermarket at cash counter.

Every weekend we both used to go to Ashram and spend time there working and enjoying . As our college is far from it we took a room.

With this income we managed our necessary expenses.
I learned dance under Smt. Kritika sarang till I was 18. As I was not able to manage I stopped attending.
But now with help of advanced technology and social media, I am learning new things daily.

College left by 3. I went home, freshed up and went to tuition class at Somajiguda. Today was hindi, English and science for 4th , 5th and 3th respectively.

I loved my students. Their notorious behaviour makes me smile and remember my childhood.

Time went so fast. It was nearly 9.30 when I reached home. I just ate a bit and dragged the sofa into bed.

Door opened. Reva was late as usual.

"11.30. Better don't come. "I ranted lying on bed.

"What can I do??"

"It will be you who will sleep till 8 in morning and shout at me."

" I'll not."

" change and strictly sleep. And, have that curd rice."
"I love you mummy."
"Get lost."
I said in a sleepy tone and slept.

ARAVIND'S POV

"Who's that girl Macha? ?"
"Machan stop it. Why are you so curious." Akash asked.

"Nothing man. What name did she say, Anita right."
"Bava..."

Before he could say anything I stopped. But she was running in my mind throughout the college time.

As we left college
"Bava.."Akash called.
"Hmm. What machan??"
"What plans for evening?"
"Work."
"Practice??" He  raised his eyebrows
"Morning"
"OK then drop me home ."

I worked at a restaurant as waiter, part time and am an sprinter. My mom does tailoring at home. Akash works at groceries shop. We both stayed at our home with mom.

I gave him my bag and drove to restaurant at Dilsukhnagar.

Before joining I texted mom 'I'll be late I think. Eat and sleep. Don't wait for me.'

Shift took all lot of time. I waited for someone to relieve me. At last someone came.

I wrote my shift hours in the book and went home.
I was late, nearly 11.30.

I rushed to home, silently opened the door , went to the room and changed to nightwear. I  drank water and went to sleep.

Before I could do so I heard a voice

" beta eat something and then sleep."

Amma said softly as she got up.

" OK ma you sleep."

"No"she refused."sit before me and eat. You have been skipping your dinner from a week. Don't fool me. If you won't eat then how will my boy run fast and win medals??"

I chuckled and took the plate and sat down to eat.

"I told you to sleep na. You neither sleep nor take pills on time. How many time do I have to say?" I said With a morsel of food I my mouth.

"These pills are nothing if you are near me. What a mother needs other than her child's happiness."

"Amma please, not again." I said looking at her.

She was about to cry but stopped.

"OK beta. Go to sleep."
I washed the plate, put an alarm for 4 and went to sleep.

But I was not able to , after I heard that from mom.

I went to hall, where mom was sleeping and gazed at her.

"I love you mom. How much you work hard for me! " I whispered and started pressing her legs.

She was sleeping peacefully.

I just slept off near her.
