"You are way too protective, you know that?" Chaeyoung said as she rested her head on Jungkook's shoulder, clutching the blanket tighter.
"Can you blame me?" He said, ignoring how dry his mouth had become. He tries to act as normal as he possibly can but living with your crush isn't cupcakes and rainbows all the time.
"Well, I'm glad that you still came with me to meet him. I know it must be hard for you too." She said.
Jungkook scoffed. "I'm not the one who he was stalking."
"Yeah, I know." She replied, a hint of laughter in her tone. "But you still controlled your anger for me. I appreciate that." He smiled at her words.
"It's because I'm so deeply in love with you." Jungkook thought to himself, hanging on to every bit of his will power to not hug Chaeyoung, because she was so cozy and warm and… why is she not resting her head on him anymore?
Jungkook moved his head to look at Chaeyoung and found her staring back at him in surprise. It confused him. Why was she looking at him like that?
"What?" He asked.
"Y-You… what…." She stuttered, unable to find words to say.
"What–" Jungkook started and then the dreadful realisation dawned on him.
He just said that out loud, didn't he?
Judging by their expressions, they both knew. They both knew what just happened. It's just that they don't seem to be able to believe it.
"I- I…" Jungkook was panicking. This was not what he expected today to end like. This was unplanned, uncalled for. Why did he open his mouth???
So he did what he thought was only appropriate in the situation.
He got up and left, leaving Chaeyoung alone in their apartment.
