"Huh..." I sighed, Isabella's words ringing through my head
Don't trust anyone
I sat up to look at Mason, his eyes were still sealed shut and there was a satisfied smile on his face
Surely, I could trust him right?
It did look pretty vague how the attack started when the werewolves arrived
But then again, other vampires came right? They could also be the attackers too.
I just can't trust anyone
"What's wrong?" Mason asked and I turned my head to look at him
"I've just been thinking about us you know..." It wasn't a total lie...
"Ahhh..." he sighed "have you told your parents?" he asked and I shook my head
"I haven't" I replied
"I'll have to go back to the pack today. The Alpha was impressed with yesterday's ball; he decided to hold a mate hunt tomorrow." He said with an amused smile
"Mate hunt? What's that?" I asked and he sat up
"It's the same purpose of yesterday's ball, just less classy. Haa! A mate hunt hasn't been held in years" he snickered
"What's going to happen if you don't find your mate tomorrow?" I asked and he just shrugged
"Nothing, I'll just wait some more until the alpha's ready to step down. That's when it's going to be a real problem. Luckily, the Alpha isn't going to be stepping down anytime soon" he said and lay back down on the grass
"It's only a matter of time before everyone finds out..." I said and rested my chin on my raised knee

Arielle's POV
"Why haven't you bitten me?" I asked the prince as we entered the room
"What?" he asked, acting oblivious
"You haven't drank from me for some time now"
"Are you complaining little angel?" he asked and drew me closer to him, sniffing my neck. He let out a satisfied sigh
"Well, I'm not complaining, I just find it weird. There's definitely a reason why you haven't bitten me"
"There's always a reason behind everything Arielle" he said and walked away from me with a smile
"You shouldn't come down for diner, the food will be sent to you" he said and walked out of the room, leaving the door slightly open. I walked forward to close it but a hand stopped me. I opened the door fully and saw a grinning Joshua
"Once again, you aren't supposed to be here" I said and folded my arms across my chest
"That's why we aren't staying here. Come with me" he held my hands and tried to draw me too him but I resisted
"Last time I followed you, I ended up almost getting killed" I said and pushed him a little
"I knew you'd bring that up"
