'Fuck!'

I groaned as Jungkook sat me down on the kitchen counter.

'I'll be right back, one second.'

His eyes were puppy-like as he motioned for me to stay where I am.

It's not like I can move to wherever I want to.

Jungkook returned not even a minute later with a first aid kit in bis hands.

He set ti down beside me and began to take out his needed supplies.

'Didn't know you were a doctor.'

I tried to ease up the tense atmosphere.

I bet he thing my leg getting shot is his fault.

He unwrapped the fabric and disinfected the wound, which hurt like bitch.

He then picked up a pair of tweezers, I knew exactly what was coming.

Jungkook noticed my uncomfortable expression.

'I'm sorry, I'll make it as quick as possible.'

My eyes stung with uncontrollable tears as Jungkook carefully picked out the bullet of my leg.

I have never experienced a sharper pain in my life.

I was forced to let out a little sound as possible to not wake up the rest of the base.

'There. Bullet's gone.' He let out a breath.

He glanced at me.

His eyes softened tremendously as he leaned towards me.

His thumb gently swiped across the bottom of my eyes, catching the tears that were beginning to fall.

The pain from cleaning my gunshot wound was so extreme, that I didn't realize tears began to prickle down my cheeks.

'I'm sorry y/n, this is all my fault.'

He mumbled, a shameful tone in his voice.

Jungkook finished bandaging my leg.

The pain was minimized but barely.

'No, don't say that.'

I immediately defended him.

I can't stand here and watch Jungkook beat himself up over something he didn't have control of.

'It was on my. I should've watched my own back, okay?' I gently spoke.

Jungkook's face was still close to mine.

My heart was pounding so hard in my chest, I was almost he can hear it.

He lowered his head for a couple seconds, letting out a deep sigh.

'But if I was just a bit more careful—'

'Jungkook, don't.'

I tried to end the conversation of him thinking what happened to me is his fault.

My fingers lightly pushed his head upwards, his eyes meeting mine once again.

His eyes stared into mine.

His lips widened in the slightest bit.

A light blush crept on my cheeks.

I took my hand back once I realized what was I doing.

'Um—'

'Come one, let's get you to bed.'

Jungkook's surprisingly soft voice interrupted me.

He swept me up bridal style without another word, my uead rested against his chest as he made his way up up and towards my room.

I could hear his pounding heartbeat.

The pain in my leg was still evident but I tried not to focus on it.

We reached my bedroom not too long afterwards.

Jungkook gently set me down on my bed, being visibly careful of my leg.

All the warmth of his slight embrace a couple seconds ago vanished the second he lett go of me.

He grabbe my covers and lightly draped them over me.

I could have done that for myself but Jungkook probably noticed my eyes fluttering in exhaustion.

'Sleep well.'

He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

His eyes slightly widened in shock after his action. I noticed a light blush creeping onto his cheeks.

He began hurriedly making his way out of the room.

'Good night!'

I practically squeaked out just before Jungkook slipped out of my bedroom.

I placed the back of my hand onto my cheek.

Yep! It was on fire.
