Taehyung gave up. He's sure that Jin remembers him, but he's also sure that Jin isn't going to come back. How do you expect someone to wait 2 whole years for someone who's not going to come? Taehyung has changed. Sure his hair was still the same color but he rarely smiles now and rejects everyone attempting to get close to him. J-hope asked him out a year and a half after Jin left and Taehyung turned him down without a second thought. He felt bad afterward when he went home but J-hope understood that Tae didn't want a relationship.

Jin wasn't going to come back, and neither was a hopeful Taehyung. He grew distant from everyone, he contacted Jimin once a week or so, and he left his house every other day, only for school and his job. He often heard his co-workers talking about how he moved to the teen area because of his behavior. He bumped into some of the little kids that he used to take care of and they told him that they missed him a lot and they wished that he would come back. He said that he would come back sometimes when he felt better. The worst part of this whole thing was, he asked people to stop calling him V. Every time he heard that letter, he thought of Jin.

There were a lot of things that Taehyung couldn't get over. He could never bring himself to delete Jin's old number from his phone, he still has every single picture Jin took on his phone, he has their whole conversation, and he still reads the drafts every single day. Every time he read the part about Jin promising to come back he pouted and thought 'He's such a liar, he would be back by now'

His sister walked in his room one day to find him crying. That was the day he decided to give up. He didn't want his sister to see him like that so he gave up. If he did this, then he wouldn't have to cry anymore.

Today was December 4th. It was Jin's birthday Taehyung spent it in his room alone, or he did until his whole family came into his room. He was on his phone staring at the man he knew he would never see again. When he looked up his sister was sitting next to him on the bed. He quickly put his phone away.

"Yes?" He asked them, wondering what they were doing inside his room, they knew what day it was.

"Taehyung, you need to get out of the house." His mother said gently.

"I'm fine in my room, I'm tired. I had a hard day at work" He lied, knowing full well that his parents wouldn't buy it.

"Taehyung, Jimin told us that he wanted to bring you somewhere. Just this once, he said that you guys had to go." His father said.

"V-Hyung," His sister said quietly. Taehyung flinched at the name. "I don't want you like this. I know it's because I saw you cry, but this is worse! You're not talking to anyone! At least, when you cried you would still play with us and talk and smile" Tears formed in the little girls eyes, making Taehyung's heart clench.

"I- I didn't know..." He looked at his parents. They nodded and told them Jimin was waiting downstairs. Taehyung slowly got up. He looked back and offered his hand to his sister. She took it while sniffling and wiping her face with her other hand. He pulled her up and hugged her, carrying her downstairs to where an angry Jimin glared at him.

"What the heck man?! Why are you here? Isn't it Jin's birthday? Even though you aren't here, You should still be out and about!" Jimin took the little girl out of Taehyung's arms, carefully of course, and set her on the couch before pushing Tae out the door to the car.

"Jimin where are you taking me?" He whined and buckled his seat belt despite the fact he didn't wanna go anywhere.

"To the roof"

"You're bringing me to work when it's my day off?"

"You're not going to work, we are just going on the roof so you can feel better. You've been acting different lately. I don't like it and I know when Jin comes back he won't like it either."
