It was already chilly outside and Christmas was coming soon.

I watched as Ye Jin paced back and forth in the garden practicing her lines and couldn't help but smile.

Getting to watch her in her craft was one of the perks I had being with her. It was one of the reasons why I wanted to work with her face-to-face after our movie. I loved watching her come up with the best ideas for the scenes and she was always generous in teaching me and her other colleagues, so we end up doing better as well.

She must have felt my stare because she stopped pacing, looked at me and waved. Giving me one of her smiles that I love, she blew air kisses and mouthed, "I love you!" continuing until I waved off her silliness.

But I continued to glance at her from time to time.

Last week, we had another important discussion.

We were both offered projects whose shooting schedules were almost the same, but locations were too far and visiting each other was impractical. That meant, it would be a good two months that we wouldn't be seeing each other. She sighed in bed, "Two months without seeing your handsome face!"

I chuckled. "We can do it. We've done it before."

"I know but that doesn't mean I have to like it," she pouted and I couldn't help but steal a kiss. "The story is very good, though."

I nodded. "So take it."

Ye Jin frowned at me. "Do you no longer find yourself missing me?"

My eyes widened. "Of course not. I will miss you but this project is good for you. I would also like to take the project offered to me."

"That role for you is amazing, too, Bin-ssi," she agreed. Then, sighing again, "I must really be advancing in my years that I find myself not wanting to separate from you."

I hugged her. "You're such a sweetheart, you know?"

"Bin?"

"Hmm?"

"We're not young," she stated matter-of-factly.

"You still look like you're in your twenties," I told her.

"Aish!" she said. "I'm being serious."

"I am, too. But okay, yes, we are not young."

"I know you want to be a father," she started saying. I tensed up a little, unsure where this conversation was going. I moved so that I could look into her eyes as she was speaking. "I want to be a mom, too. I worry that it won't happen if we wait too long."

"What are you saying, Ye Jin?" I asked, genuinely confused.

She sat up. "Please don't be mad at me." She fidgeted and played with her fingers, looking at me tentatively. "I... well... A couple of weeks ago, I was delayed."

I held my breath.

"At first I was scared but then I quickly felt excited," she said, smiling. But her expression quickly changed, "But then just before I even got a test, my period came so my hopes for a baby were dashed. That's when I realized that I really wanted one... a baby."

I felt her excitement, happiness and disappointment and realized that I wanted the same. I had known it for a long time but it was more of an underlying feeling. Something we had discussed but always in future tenses. Now, it felt very close and very real... and very, very welcome.
