٧] my mind's eye
I have suffered
excessively
at the hands
of unruly imagination
perhaps that is why
I often seek refugee
from my own mind
hoping that His Mercy
would soon let me forget
all those dreams
I once built unwisely
brick by brick
burning under the sun
in my mind's eye
and to my relief
is a promised response
as He fills my heart
with a kind of peace
that drives out all preference
and suddenly, all I want now
is what is written for me
