Nayeon was currently writing the introduction and body of the book she was writing when she suddenly thought of procrastinating by reading a letter again, she pulled her drawer and pulled one of the envelopes

November 01, 1938

Dear kyungwan

         I wasn't able to attend your birthday but im glad that i bumped with you the other day. It was nice to see you again after so many months, and have a little chit chat with you.

And oh! I heard you finally enlisted to the military? Congrats! I am proud of you... Always

This is not gonna be so a so long letter but i hope to see you again, i hate to say this but i miss you dork. I am wishing you everything the best, enjoy your day with your family. I hope to be with you next time, ill make it up?

Did you received my present? Please bring it with you everyday juseyo?

Nayeon then turned to look at kyungwan, and raised her eyebrows at him as if she was asking a question

"what?" kyungwan asked

"what did mina gave you?" nayeon chuckled as she ask then putted the letter back on its envelope and took out another one

"oh, that one!" kyungwan answered and pointed out the rusty yet heavy pocket watch

"its pretty heavy" nayeon messed around and keep on throwing the pocket watch to the air

Nayeon was caught off guard when she noticed kyungwan leaning over to her desk, scanning the envelope she just newly took out

"i hate that Letter, i could've burnt it like the other letter she gave but i didn't" kyungwan frowned then lowered his head to let out a deep sigh, not long after he lifted up his head again to face nayeon

"luckily you didn't" nayeon replied and unfolded the letter

January 10, 1939

To my dearest kyungwan

   How are you? I never heard of you again since you enlisted in the army? Its almost a year but i never saw you again, not even a single presence. I hope you received all the letters i had sent to you, you're friend Dahyun wasn't giving me any update from you, so i guess i had to be the one to ask you then?

Are you alright there? Is anyone hurting you there? I hope you're doing well, i know.. I don't have the rights to say this to you since i was the main reason why you're suddenly being distant to me, i am sorry... But im truly and badly missing you, if i could just tell you why i had to reject you and tell you the things you deserve to receive. Ive already did, but i hope one day i'll be able to say it to you in person.

I will be waiting for your response... I can wait anytime, like you did.

Nayeon got confused of the letter mina sent, suddenly, questions started to form in her head.

Why does it seems that kyunywan suddenly ghosted mina after confessing? Is it because he was rejected by the latter, or there was something else?

Nayeon look over to kyungwan and gave him the most questioning look she can ever give.

"dont look at me like that" kyungwan calmly uttered and quickly diverted his sight away from nayeon
